During this summer, my friends recommended that I watch a season of Warehouse 13 since I’m fond of science fiction movies, television shows, and books. I thought it was well made therefore I watched all of the episodes and I love most of the seasons. The fifth season seemed rushed and was only six episodes. Other shows I enjoy watching are Doctor Who, Supernatural, and The X-Files but there’s an overabundance of episodes. Warehouse 13 is distinctive by seeing that it won’t take up much time. This show has five seasons and around sixty episodes. They last around forty minutes each so I finished the series in two weeks. I normally don’t binge watch; however, after seeing the Indiana Jones based episode I finished fairly quickly.
I appreciate

“He gave up drinking and smoking.” Louie did exactly this, because he knew the potential he had in running, and wanted to reach that potential. Louie is the main character in the book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. Almost the whole story revolves around him, and his magnificent life. Louie has grown from being a very troubled young boy, to being a very mature, giving, and humble young man.
Many people have to go through difficult times, but many do not have to face what Louie Zamperini faced. Louie Zamperini was an Olympic athlete in WWII. While on a bombing run, he crashed in the Pacific Ocean and was stranded for 47 days at sea. He was captured, beaten, and torchered by the Japanese for two years. In Laura Hillenbrand’s book, Unbroken, Louie Zamperini showed rebelliousness and resistance while at the harsh POW camps, but uses these traits to survive the Japanese’s mind games and beatings.
In Unbroken, by Lauren Hillenbrand the setting plays a significant role. The story starts the childhood of a man named Louie. He grew up with his Italian family in Torrance, California during the 1920s and 30s. He was the middle child and was considered a troublemaker. Because of his behavior, his behavior, his older brother, Pete, made him try out for the track. His performance was amazing and as a result he was allowed to join the team. Everyday he was training with his brother. He won all of yhe local track meets and went on to run in the 1936 olympics in Germany. He ran the 5,000 meter race. Even though he finished in 7th place, he broke the world record for the fastest final lap with 56 seconds. Louie was determined to perform better in the 1940 olympics.

H.G. Bissinger tells the story of the obsessive town of Odessa, Texas in his book, Friday Night Lights. This town has a toxic obsession with high school football and wastes away life until Friday nights. The expectations held for the athletes of Odessa are suicidal and the preparation for life outside of high school is almost non existent. The town of Mount Vernon, Iowa also lives for Friday nights, however they have a healthy balance between these exciting events and ordinary life. Mount Vernon athletes are held to reasonable standards and are thoroughly being prepared for a successful future.
Friday Night Lights is a non-fictional book written by Harry Gerard Bissinger III. Bissinger wrote the book in 1990. Chris Weeden wrote that Bissinger said, “It’s my best book, my most ambitious book, but I knew halfway through it was going to have a very limited audience” (2006). Bissinger was in search of a town controlled solely by sports. Therefore, this search led him to the Permian High School in Odessa, Texas (the setting for the novel). Friday Night Lights shows how a struggling town uses its beloved high school football team to overcome racial problems, political disagreements, and an unprosperous economy.
Although competition is something that can drive one to the top of a mountain, sometimes there can be an enormous negative consequence that no one can handle. Middletown High School, where Brendan Lawlor and Gary Searle both attend, holds an extremely high competitive atmosphere. In particular, this school puts the most drive into their football players and wrestlers. “Everyone around here knows the football players. Either they see them at the games or they read about them in the newspaper” (78). However, as shown in this book competitiveness may lead to a complicated result, in this case a shooting. As a result of the power put into the athlete at Middletown High School, the athletes and the academic students receive contrasting treatment

Matt and I were put into a vault with lots of people who also lived in Boston with us. Matt and I got chosen as runners. The runner's job was to find caps, clothing, food and purified water. We got missions and other jobs from the overseer and other people who needed help. When we were looking for supplies and doing missions we came across two dogs, one that was named Dogmeat and another dog that we named Sparky. Matt and I walk through two big hills and saw lots of big things that we called deathclaws. Deathclaws are really big ugly things that have really big claws. It took a long time to kill these guys because they are really strong and powerful. Good thing we had a mini nuke and a really nice rocket launcher called a fatman.
The book Runway raised a lot of questions in my mind. Holly had a of of bad experiences with Social Services and foster homes, and it really made me wonder how many kids suffer in the system. Holly was not only put into multiple abusive foster homes, but when she complained to Social Services, no one believed her, even when there was a decent amount of proof. Even though Runaway is a fictional book, it makes me wonder if any kids or teenagers have gone through this. Holly became scared of the system for fear of being abused again. It not only makes me wonder if other kids have gone through this, but it makes me wonder if kids suffer, then how thorough is the system when approving parents for fostering a child? I'm also curious if anyone has
This book is about the final girls in the selection who are fighting for the spot of being Maxons wife. In this journal I would be predicting if America or kriss will be marrying Maxon. First off I predict that America will be marrying Maxon. I think America will be marring Maxon because at the Halloween Ball, Maxon said that he is going to be marrying America. He even had a toast to his “future wife” and as he was saying it he looked at America and gave her a wink. Maxon also showed only America the princess room. He did not show anyone else besides her. When the rebels last came, America was outside. So when she saw them, she ran in to the woods and got lost. Maxon was worried sick about her and not knowing where she is. As soon as America got checked in to the hospital, Maxon went to go and see her right away. But I also predict that Kriss will be marring Maxon. I think Kriss will be the one marring Maxon because he has been spending a lot of time with Kriss. He even siting by her during the meals. For every Party, Maxon always asks Kriss for the first dance. Maxon said that he does not want to send Kriss home but he also does not want to send America home. I predict that America will be the one marrying Maxon because of all the things he has said/promised her and the way he has acting around
