Recycling involves collecting, processing and selling products made from old materials. For example, a recycled plastic soda bottle is chipped, melted and made into fiber.
Using something again is called reuse. Common materials are used again for the same purpose or for something different like washing dirty clothes or making a purse out of old jeans. It is expensive and unpractical to buy new clothing every day. By taking care of the items and/or doing routine maintenance on goods, they can be used longer. For example, apply grease on a bike chain or clean dust and crumbs from a computer keyboard.

Waste disposal is either disposing our wastes in water, on land, or anywhere. Waste is usually managed where it can prevent the releasing of pollutants in our environment. Before disposing our wastes, it is a must that they may be classified according to its physical, chemical, and biological characteristics. By classifying them according to consistency is the major way of classification; whether it is a liquid waste, a solid waste, or sludge. Liquid wastes must be less than 1% solid. On the other hand, solid wastes must contain less than 70% water. Sludge is another classification of waste materials; being somewhere in between a liquid and a solid. It must contain 3 and 25% solid and the rest is made up of water.
These days, our earth has been filled by a lot of waste. There is a lot of garbage, plastic waste, and electronic waste. We always produce it and dump it when we need the new one. Our waste are piling up and continuously accumulating. Plastic waste is one of the biggest problems for us now. And our solution in this problem is recycling. Recycling is the process of converting waste material into reusable objects. Actually, recycling and using recycled materials has proven to be advantages to the landfill; it conserves natural resources, saves energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and it helps create more well paid jobs in the recycling and manufacturing industries.
Recycling isn’t new. For centuries recycling was a way of life. People didn’t waste anything. They found ways to reuse items over again. Pilgrims and Indians lived off the land and conserved items from livestock and agriculture. Besides using animals for meat, early settlers used the animal hides for survival as well. The hide was reused for clothing, pouches, shoes, boots, and blankets. Furniture was produced from animal skin. Early settlers learned to make tools, weapons and jewelry from bones.

Waste is a term in the law of real property to describe a cause of action that can be brought in court to address a change in condition of real property brought by a current tenant that damages or destroys the value of that property.
As our global population continues on a steady rise so does our product consumption, which naturally leads to an increase in waste production. The vast amount of waste that we are manufacturing ultimately lands up in our oceans, lakes, rivers, alley ways, backyards and parks creating what are known as garbage towns. This would introduce health risks to individuals and the community as a whole. These risks could also include exposure to dangerous chemicals that poses detrimental effects on the environment. To avoid this from happening governments have created landfills. Landfills are a “place to dispose of refuse and other waste material by burying it and covering it over with soil, especially as a method of filling in or extending usable land.” (Webster Dictionary). In an even more extravagant attempt to keep waste material out of the streets and non biodegradable products out of the ground and keeping organic material together governments have added recycling and composting plants to landfills to make waste management centres. In waste management centres they may separate the material there and transport it to its respective plant, or have the respective plants built in.
Lately the earth’s capacity to tolerate exploitation and absorb solid wastes disposal has diminished, due to excess trashing. People dispose lots of stuff, and simply do not care. Therefore scientists found out a way to reuse things and that process was called "recycling". This new approach seemed quite successful at the beginning, until its true identity appeared. Recycling first started as man’s best friend, people were intrigued by this new phenomena. What could be better than using things that were already used. Recycling has been very useful especially that man is constantly consuming, burning up, wearing out, replacing and disposing at an alarming rate.(Durning 1992). However, unfortunately recycling
The waste is something that is “no longer useful” or harmful to the society or a person (p. 393). It can take various forms: liquid, solid, gas or energy (heat or noise) (p. 394). Living beings produce wastes (p. 393). A lot of garbage is derived from human activity. The statistics show that waste production in the United Kingdom totaled approximately “335 million tonnes annually in the early 2000s” (p. 294). The main contributing sectors of this junk were: construction, demolition, mining, quarrying, industry, commerce, household, dredged materials, sewage sludge and agriculture (p. 394). Some wastes are hazardous if they are corrosive, flammable, explosive, toxic to living beings or possess high chemical reactivity (p. 394). Such materials can be: hospital wastes, alkali, acids, heavy metals, oils, solvents, pesticides and PCBs (p. 394-395). Unfortunately, the lack of annually updated information on waste, low priority of its collection and varying methods of its compilation across different countries makes the analyze of waste trends very problematic (p. 394).
Reusing materials saves energy and provides resources necessary for living. Recycling encourages the reuse of recycled materials to make new products. Lots of products are made out of recyclable materials like paper, metals, and especially plastics.
