What does “coming of age” really mean? It means a child becoming an adult, in anyway. From making decisions at a young age to when you’re turning into an adult. The coming of age is in the book "The DUFF" by Koby Keplinger. Keplinger shows this in the book by writing the story in a teen’s point of view. More specifically, Keplinger shows the coming of age by writing the story in the view of a teen’s perspective. Keplinger wrote “I got my ass out that classroom the second the bell rang". Keplinger is saying what every teen is thinks whiles in class. Keplinger purpose for writing this book is to inform you that you can make so many mistakes but you will eventually learn from them and you will turn into a better/bigger person as you grow from them. She hates basically anything and everything because she doesn’t cooperate with her generation. She is the type of person to say what she feels without any questions asked. As the story goes on in this book Bianca is learning how to fix her mistakes. The amount of obstacles Bianca goes through in this book is actually a lot most teens can relate to. At first she just wants to crawl in a hole and forget about everything that has happened to her but she then realizes how is that going to fix her problems.
I feel that "The DUFF" was a really entertaining book. I found that I actually related to the book and it did make me see the point of coming of age in different perspectives. In every teens life there is something romantic no matter who you are and how you carry yourself. In this book
