If I had an hour to myself it would be called the Christen hour. I would start by taking about 10 min to just sit and think about how I can be a better person and how I can help myself with all of the stuff I’ve been going through .Then, I would think about what I would do after I graduate from 8th grade. I would think about what high school has the subjects that can help me in my collage years. For example, I want to be a lawyer. Picking a high school that provides good history, like, East High School, that provides fantastic history courses. I’m not sure other high schools would help me in my pre-law college courses. Don’t get me wrong other high school history classes may be good but, I just have a better feeling about East
“Life After High School” by Joyce Carol Oates is a brilliant demonstration of the tragedy that follows when individuals refuse to be true to themselves. The protagonist, Sunny Burhman, must reconcile her high status and the ensuing idolization of her character with the pursuit of her hand in marriage by the antagonist, Zachary Graff, whom she does not love. As Zachary presents her with a ring, she finally realizes that she no longer can lead him on; she rejects him. He commits suicide as a result, and Sunny assumes she was the solo motive for his actions, though it is later revealed she was not. Consequently, she draws upon the reader’s pity by renouncing her cheery demeanor and devoting her life to accomplishments rather than the pursuit of
It’s optional for anyone to get a college education and end up being successful with and without the college education.
Coming from Cuba to The United States of America was a dream; however, a nightmare as well. I came to live to Miami when I was nine years old during fourth grade. My family constantly told me to study hard to be able to graduate from high school and go to college. In addition, learning a new culture, language, and educational system was tough for me. High-school graduation was my main goal to reach since I came to this country; yet, I had a long pathway to walk and full of challenges.
I believe going to college after high school is very important if you want to succeed. Yes a high school diploma is good too. But many careers are requiring more education because technology is getting more advanced. If you want to support your family when you're older, a good path to take is college.
The boy told you what he was going to do- had his plan laid out and all. You took it as a joke, not ever thinking he would have killed three of your best friends along with four other people, and one just so happens to be your brother. What if you could have prevented that? What if you told a trusted adult ahead of time? What if you would have talked to the boy himself? A lot of teens ask these questions whenever it’s already too late. We don’t tend to think about things like that though because we never want to think that we could be involved in the situation. We say, “Oh, no big deal. He probably told someone else the same thing too. They’ll take care of it if they think it’s something serious.” The truth is, according to research within
The more June use her abilities, the more it consumes her humanity. Her abilities may give her a higher intellect and psychic control, but the severe drawback of her abilities is an enhance-sexual-perversion. The risk of losing her mind over to her inner- dark-sexual-desire is coming nearer in each passing days.
When I was five years old, all of my friends were starting Kindergarten. My mom was trying to decide if I would be too; so I told her I was going too. I think that was the beginning of being outspoken and saying what I thought.
"Then comes baby in a baby carriage" was all Rafael could think about when he sees Sonny push a carriage with various bags attached to it into his apartment. What on earth was he involuntarily being roped into? Babysitting and on the one day he wasn't busy with multiple cases or tutoring his boyfriend.
When I was in high school I didn’t feel like doing any work because I used to see it as a waste of time so in high school freshmen year I had almost all f’s on my report card. My teachers told me that I wasn’t going to be anything in life and my family would joke around and tell me I would work for minimum wage. So I told everyone that I was going to change my life around and graduate high school but the way I was going they didn’t believe that I could ever change. No one really believed me and they thought I was just trying to make myself feel better.
Can you not believe that Violet!?, Ronald thought out loud as he stomped through the hallways.
He had just put the kids to bed when it happened. They were tucked in their cozy blankets with their teddy bears nuzzled against their warm bodies without a care in the world. Nothing was supposed to go wrong on their vacation away from the chaos they called life, but apparently vacation didn’t want to play along.
High school students debate whether they are going to college or not.College is where you get a higher education and degree.A college degree is usually still cherished in today’s society, especially those who are able to recieve one. I interviewed two people about their after high school experiences and what they did after they get their high school diploma. The two people I interviewed were my cousin Joshua Tanner, and my pastor from church, Miles Kilcrease. Here was their responses.
When I was in sixth grade I found myself already set on what I would do with my life after high school. I would serve the greatest country in the world as a U.S. Marine. This idea to be a soldier was always there, I don't know why but it was. The idea of serving my country and giving back to all the people who gave to me has always been appealing. In return of what they did for me, I would give my life. Little did I know how much work it would be to get there. Six years later and here I am getting ready to live out my dream. At the end of my Junior year I got the opportunity to join the Delayed Entry Program, which is basically early enlistment. Now that my senior year is here the date of me shipping out is less than a year away. I must take every chance I can get to prepare for boot camp and the life challenges ahead. That’s where P.T. comes in. P.T. is set up to get you prepared both mentally and physically for boot camp. I understood the point but I never realized how mentally prepared you need to be. After my first day of school, I underwent intense P.T. Before an hour drive to Denver we stopped by the recruiters’ office in Greeley. There we had to sign papers waving the Marines responsibility for us. If we were to get hurt or die, then oh well you signed the paper. I questioned my decision to go at this point, wondering how demanding the P.T. would be. That night, me and other recruits stayed the night in the Marine headquarters. There isn’t much to tell about that
When I was 5 years old, my mom and dad introduced me to the word “school”. They told me how important school was for everyone and how important it was to do be good at it. Recalling the first years of education is difficult for me, but I could only imagine how weirded out I was when I had to get up early in the morning, ride in a big yellow vehicle for around 15 minutes and get dropped off at a place that was unknown, filled with hundreds of others around the same age as me. Remembering the 6 years of elementary is fairly hard, but I do recall the memorable years of middle school. I had a ton of exciting moments in middle school, seeing my school district’s high school basketball team win our division state tournament and bringing home the gold ball, receiving recognition for completing middle school, and other great memories. The more I got older, the more I thought what I wanted to be as an adult, and going through high school really showed me some extraordinary things I could do with my life, but after walking down the aisle along with my classmates, I thought that this was the end of my education and I would move onto working the rest of my life. My parents though, had another idea, college. My first thought on college was questioning myself and my parents on how I could possibly put myself through more years of education after high school, but I made the decision, and now that I actually am at the collegiate level the answer is clear. If I want to be successful
For many high school students, happiness is caused by academic success. Students who do well in school are better able to make the transition into adulthood. Life after high school is **strenuous and it requires a lot of effort in order to succeed in it. High school teaches students how to write an essay and solve math problems, however, the major lesson students acquire from high school is preparation for the future. According to a school website, “teens who practice good time management have less stress and also have more balance and success in other areas of their lives (sports, social life, work, etc.).” Time management skills are taught throughout high school. For instance, students are expected to manage their time by getting to class on time and finishing all of their homework on time. If students are not ***solemnly putting an effort in school, then this skill will not be refined. Being academically successful allows students to manage their time wisely. Therefore, they are more prepared for the adult world where they would have to manage job and college. Many students who are doing well in school can handle the workload. One of the most arduous task students find when they go to college is the amount of workload thrown at them. According to an educational website, “The transition to college is a major awakening for students who struggled during high school or who got by without effective study or learning habits.” Students who do well academically in high school are
