Most people don't realize the people who've made real difference are not all privileged, advantaged, or "special" by any means. You could have health or mental disabilities and still make an impact. Some could be sport professionals or national leaders may inspire the world, while if you're quieter you can inspire your family, friend's or co-workers. You could be young and do something you think isn't big, but in the future it will be. What impact will you make? My impact will be a small, everyday kind of impact, but still effective in everyone's life. When I grow up I want to be an Ultrasound Technician, but how does a job like that make an impact on the world or people's lives. The life of a person depends on you, and if they have a problem
Have you ever made a difference well these people have. Miep gies helped anne frank and her family escape and really made a difference, Miep gies gave otto frank (Anne frank’s Father), and rosa parks she stood up for herself and other people and that made other people want to stand up for each other.
The two things that I can say without a doubt in my mind that I have done that have made a difference are my club, Irmo Arts Outreach, and my work at Lexington Medical Center(LMC) as a volunteer. Irmo Arts Outreach has left an impact more on the community than anything else, and the volunteer work at LMC has changed me more than anyone else. Irmo Arts Outreach was a dream I had, which I was able to make into a reality with the help of a few friends. What we do is go to the VA hospital to perform musical pieces for veterans, to let them know we appreciate everything they did for us and that they are not alone. I started the club, I organized our visits to the hospital, and I got permission for them to let us perform there. On our first visit
Whether you believe it or not, what you do has the power to affect change. Take Christopher Columbus for example even though no one had done it before and no one really believed in him he didn’t give up, and without him America may have never became what we know it as today.
Though, it may not seem this way, the impact you may have on someone can make a difference. When you make an impact on a person’s life you are taking a step forward, to make a difference. Elie Wiesel survived the Holocaust and lived to share his story. We should never forget the stories of the lost and the gone. So that we do not repeat their mistakes. All it takes is one person, an Albert Schweitzer, to make a difference. Discrimination is something that everyone, even Elie Wiesel, has to deal with. Evan Ducker and Sarah Cronk both stood up and spoke out against discrimination. Evan Ducker wrote a book to help people. I understand what it feels like to be judged based on looks. Sarah Cronk created a cheerleading squad inviting everyone to join and be united together. There is a campaign created to support and encourage others to pursue their dream job. This campaign supports people in all ages to become their dream job not just children. One person is all it takes to make a difference. The question of if a person can make a difference is silly because it only takes one person. The real question is, how can one person make a difference? So yes, one person can make a
Politically, socially, environmentally or one person at a time, how will you give back to society? Day in and day out many citizens change the world, or they do just the opposite and make the world a worse place than when they woke up. The article I chose to review is, “Community Service” written by Robert Coles. The article tells a story of college students who make a difference in the world through peer tutoring, an act of community service, and have such an impact that they act as role models for Coles and he begins to do the same. Briefly in the beginning of the article, Coles states that, “students are likely to express their lofty political and social impulses and practical desires to change the world through community service, even if in limited or modest ways.”(Robert Coles, pg.93) We must make an ultimate decision about the world we live in, will we choose to make a difference in the lives of fellow citizens or discriminate and punish not only them but ourselves by not sharing the knowledge we have been taught.
Making a difference isn’t an easy assignment to do, but if an individual does, they become a hero. Thoreau, Martin Luther King Jr, and Gandhi are three heros of the past that will never be forgotten. Their moral integrity is what made them so memorable. Posterities to come will always have these men’s actions and decisions on their minds. Even though some people might have their own opinions, they will always be remembered as “the men who made a difference”.
Although I cannot change the world, the past leaders taught me to persevere and make a footprint on the world so that an another brave individual will join my footprint to create a chain reaction of
People that follow beliefs or desires go on to make the world a better place. Individuals that have changed the world took the courage to stand up for what they believe in. Voicing unpopular ideas makes a difference in the world because if nobody were to say anything, everything would stay the same even though wrong things are happening. People that have stood up for what they believe in have made an enormous impact in our daily lives, because they made their voices heard.
I’m not the most likable person but I have known ever since I was a little girl I want going to help and change America's future. Growing up I would say that my family and I lived in a middle-class home in the suburbs of Chicago. I went to a public school I was a Brownie and a Girl Scout. I went on a trip to Chicago with my youth ministry, and we saw Martin Luther King Jr. and listened to his “I have a Dream” speech it really inspired me to get involved with social justice. My father, Hugh E. Rodham was a WWII Navy veteran and a small-business owner, and my mother Dorothy Howell Rodham, stay at home mom. Unlike me my mother had a very tough childhood. Her parents left her when she was little and had basically raised herself alone. Due to her
When I was eight years of age, I started to realize that there was an entire word outside of the town, state, and country that I lived in. I became concerned about the lives of others, even those that I didn’t know personally. I often thought “There are people in other countries that don’t even have enough water to live, and I am living an amazing life here in America”. Not only was I concerned for those people, but I took action to help them. It was then that I started a fundraiser to raise money for people that can’t afford the basic necessities to live in third world countries. To this day, I have been saving every penny I could afford to make sure other people can live a better life.
If i was to make the world a better place for all I feel like i would need to be perfect, and as you probably know, i am not. However, if i was able to leave an impact to start the change for the world i believe my skills and talents would be beneficial. The skills and talents that i would say would be most beneficial is the fact that i am very open minded to other people's opinions yet, i can stand my ground on my own. I can also say without a doubt that i am a very humble person and take pride for what my parents did to get me where i am today. The last thing is that i stick to my word, and will keep a promise as long as if i can trust you. Now, let's get more into detail.
To change the world is an impossible goal, but to change the world around you is something anyone can do, ultimately leading to a ripple and changing the world further. My involvements in my community, family and job have taught me how to be an asset to society, making a difference in other’s lives.
One distinctive way that I would choose as a world changer is to end homelessness. Homelessness is an increasing crisis that impacts our nation. In my honest opinion there should be no one homeless. In order to end homelessness I would help to transform minds by speaking and educating the minds of people regarding the huge dilemma of being homeless. Another distinct way is to help inspire children that live in poverty. As a world changer I would develop an organization
I see community service as the key element to my future. I believe that each person should leave the world a little better than how they found it. Community service has held a huge part of my life already. I currently am very involved with a program called Candlelighters. Candlelighters is a program that works with cancer patients and their families. As a part of the Candlelighters program I have seen many children lose their lives to cancer. Each child has left a mark on my heart, and I am a better person for knowing them.
I belong in a community that's diverse and full of different cultures, personalities, and walks of life. I love learning from others, as every person has a new and different perspective. These perspectives open people up to thousands of new opportunities. My footprint, the mark I'm leaving on the world, may seem minuscule in comparison to Abraham Lincoln's or Ghandi's, but to someone it will change the world. Not only have I affected every life I've encountered, one way or another, but even the small changes I want to make on this planet will make the biggest difference in at least one person's life. Changing one life, even the slightest bit for the better, is all I could ask
