Deaton’s Autobiography
It was a quiet morning in the hospital in Mountain Home. The date was August 10, 2005. I was the fourth child born. My parents are Lance Scogin, and Jamie Scogin. I was going to be named Deakon, like the church guy. But, my mom didn’t like that, so she named me Deaton. My mom, my dad, and my brothers call me Deat. I don’t really like “Deat” because if u add one letter, the letter ‘H’, it will be Death.
August 10, 2006, I had my first birthday! I don’t really remember what i got, but i know i ate the cake. I had a fun birthday, i got a small birthday spank, a tiny pinch, and i could kinda start talking. My brothers picked me up and played with me.
In 2007, My brother, Marcus, moved to California. He moved away because

This time it was harder to talk because the rules were more strict than Kindergarten. If we talked, we would lose these things called “Bomber Bucks”. Me and Tristin talked a lot though. Every friday we would sit down in front of a TV in our class. Of course, we sat by eachother.
In 2015, I played flag football. I had a really good team. We never lost a game. It was a streak of like 20. The people on my team were Ashton, Jackson, Cortland, me, and someone else i can’t remember. On the last play of the last game, I scored. We were at the far back Touchdown. It was a handoff to me. I ran so fast I thought I was a cheetah, when i scored, the crowed cheered. My dad was the loudest one there.
In 2016, I got a PS4 for Christmas. I still play my PS4 to this day. I also got Destiny for the PS4. That is the game I like to play. I play with my friend Keian. We play with eachother sometimes. I also play with my brother. We have good times on that.
In 2017, I started to play soccer. This year, i signed up for soccer. I am on Tristin’s team. Our first game is September 30. We are gonna start having practice every Tuesday and Thursday. I am not that good at soccer because this is my first year playing. Everybody is better than me because they have all been playing for atleast 5
Do you know anyone who is interested in playing soccer? Well if you do tell them that I am a team leader for a soccer team and I have some great advice for them. Please tell them that in order to become a good soccer player you must always be a team leader, don't get lazy on the field, and always stretch before a game or practice.
It was half-way through the second quarter in the semifinals, and the Sun Valley Vikings were up by 14. They were on our own 10-yard line, and they were handing it off to one of their biggest and best players, Jack Krump, up the middle. I was in at safety, and I ran up to tackle him at the five-yard line but he came trucking through I just bounced right off of him like a wall. I heard the crowd cheering, so I could tell he scored a touchdown. They kicked the field goal and it was, good. We then ran into formation to receive the kickoff.
It was dead silent as the ball sat in the air and as if time had stopped. It was December of 2015, I was 13, my team and I was playing for 3rd place in the Colt Classic Tournament. It was a night game at Barrington Station High School. We were playing the Barrington Colts, which was weird considering they are playing for 3rd in their own tournament that they were hosting, before the game, I was talking to some of my teammates Aaron Pattis, Stephen Harris, Bradley Jenkins, Ayden Anderson and I were talking before the game, going into that game we speculated that we had this game in the bag easily as a result of how well our team was playing. Little did we know, we had another problem coming.
In a flash, the referee blows his whistle, and the game is over. Legs striding, I chase after the ball, stealing it from the other team. Amidst the excitement, I lose track of time, and minutes go by in seconds. I started playing soccer when I was 7 years old. For as long as I can remember I have loved to play soccer. When I play soccer I forget about all my worries. Since then I have played for many different recreational teams for Verdigris and Catoosa. I have also played for a competitive soccer team for West Side Alliance. Today, I play for Verdigris High School soccer. I have played for their junior varsity team for two years as the captain and the junior varsity player of the year. I have also played for the varsity team.
It was seventh grade year, I was one of the smallest kids in my grade. My biggest dream at that time was to start on the seventh grade A team as a linebacker. The first day of practice we went to the defensive position that we wanted to play, so therefore I went to the linebacker coach. When I went over there he just laughed at me and told me to go over to the safety coach because I was just to small. So I did and ended up being decent at the position. Thankfully I was able to go to the position on offence that I wanted, which was running back. I ended up starting B team as a safety and a running back.
I was shaking from nervousness. I knew that I had to give it everything I had for the sake of my team. I ran out on the field. As the ball was being played on the other side, I prayed that I would have an opportunity to help my team. Not a minute later, the ball flew up over me and the rest of the offense. One of the midfielders dashed to the ball. She ran down into the corner and passed it to the middle. I stood there, anticipating the drop and ready to score. As the ball fell to the ground, I took a small step back. I quickly got my balance, and shot as hard as I could. Time seemed to stand still as the ball flew through the air, over the goalies hands, and right into the corner of the goal. I had done it. I had broken the tie. My whole team rushed over to give me a hug. I was almost crying from joy. I could hear my parents and the other fans cheering for me from the sidelines. Shortly after we took the lead yet again, the final whistle blew. We had
I have always loved soccer, ever since I was small and had just started it, along with kindergarten. Now I was venturing into a new level of soccer: elementary school soccer. For the past year, I had been watching professional soccer, making sure to learn from every important detail that had made those larger than life players so extraordinary, so talented, and so perfect. I wrote down facts, statistics, and formations that seemed to bring them success. I practiced soccer often. For a while, I would practice for an hour or more at home after school, and when it got too cold to go outside, I would go in my garage to juggle and shoot the ball, then up to two hours at a time. I was so excited for the elementary school soccer program and I thought
I had always loved soccer and it had been my favorite sport since age four. When I turned eleven years old I joined a club named Indiana Elite which was very competitive and “hardcore” persay. We had practice three days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I was very nervous to attend my first practice on my team
I have been playing soccer as long as I can remember. Of course, I grew up kicking a ball around with my uncles not knowing what the I was doing. Eventually, growing up, I understood more and more; such as understanding that the ball needed to go in the goal. When reaching my middle school years, my parents registered me on a soccer team. As usual, It was close to the same running around my parents had experienced when I was younger. Of course, now I had better knowledge of the game and knew a bit more about how to play. When I reached my high school years, I noticed I wasn’t the best at the soccer. Now, I see myself improved in accuracy, "chemistry," and teamwork.
The delicious smell of the ground beef hamburgers and pork hot dogs was distracted me from the game. While I was running down the field, trying to get the ball. This girl, number seven, came up to me drippling the ball down. While I was in my defense mode, I took the ball from her and she felled slowly down the ground and started screaming because of her disappointment, but I kept going because wanted my team to score. I could smell the fear from the other players as I was going through them to score. I passed the ball one of my teammates that was ready and serious to get the ball and we did a one and two passed together we were very excited and finally ... she scored! The crowed started screaming in
I was born June 21, 1999, at Rainbow Children’s Hospital. When I was born, my feet were bent crooked. I had to wear casts on both of my feet until I turned one year old. I still even have my casts to this day. My Aunt Tricia chose my full name, Deja Monae Kent. I do not know how, but my mom thought I was a little boy and she was going to name me Devante (NO, the doctors did not tell her incorrect information). I really do not know where Deja came from, but Monae came from this baby at our church. The first couple of years of my life were beautiful. I was passed around from family member to family member on my mother’s side of the family every week; they just could not get enough of me or my smile.
I had a princess cake and some Disney princesses on top. Best birthday party ever. I remember going to a new school in 4th grade. I didn’t want to start school there but I ended up liking it very much. I’ve known my friends more than 4 years from Cedar Rapids. When we moved to Dubuque I ended up breaking my thumb. And I had to wear a cast for a month. For my 12th birthday we had cake and ice cream. And I’m doing other stuff too like HENNA!!!!!!! Might go to
The game vs Houston my senior year was probably my favorite game in my whole high school career. To start the game off I returned the kickoff 76 yards for a touchdown. I was weaving, ducking and breaking through tackles down the field. Finally I saw a crease, found a block, and took it the distance. The first half was basically us battling back and forth. The only points that were scored was on my kick return. They got extremely close to scoring but they missed the field goal at the last minute. After half time, they received the ball first and scored instantly. We ran some time off the clock with our next drive but we still had to punt the ball away. They came back and scored again on their next drive. The game was coming down to the wire,
After a sleepless night Saturday finally came around. As the team warmed up for the game I began to have butterflies. At last the first whistle was blown to start the game. Eventually it was time for are offensive unit to go in. On the very first drive I powered my way threw the the line of scrimmage and broke a huge 30 yard touchdown.
When I arrived at the first practice I realized that I didn’t know anybody on my team. The first week I was there all they would say to me was “Can you play soccer?” and “How good are you at
