Don’t Discriminate
` Has anyone ever violated your human rights or taken away your rights? Donald Trump has violated the human rights for the U.S. wrestlers to travel to Iran despite travel ban. By executive order from president Donald trump had took the rights of the U.S wrestlers to compete next month in Iran, one of the seven countries whose citizens were temporarily banned from the U.S.
Donald Trump’s ban has affected and was inhumane. He has discriminated the rights for the Iranians to compete. These rights states that it doesn’t matter in what type of race or color you are we are all equal. “The scheduled trip to Iran will be the first major test for U.S. athletes traveling to nations affected by trumps 90- days ban”. He has done
A Federal Judge temporarily barred Trump’s Executive Order concerning the travel ban. This has caused extreme controversy among American’s as topics such as immigration, refugees, vetting, and religion all take tolls on the perspectives of the media as well as the average American. Nevertheless, the travel ban has been critiqued as well as praised by different groups and the Federal’s Judge’s emergency order has sparked debate on the constitutionality of the order.
I. Newly inaugurated President Donald Trump has recently approved a ban involving the restriction of travel into the United States of immigrants from seven Muslim countries. Since this ban is only for up to 90 days, this is just the beginning of a potentially longer or even permanent ban. This is not the first time he has demonstrated the lack of regard with social equality.
On January 27, 2017, President Trump issued an executive order that suspended entry of all refugees into the United States for one-hundred and twenty days. The order obstructed Syrian refugees for an unspecific time and blocked entry into the United States for ninety days for citizens of seven Muslim countries, such as: Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Yemen. This order also banned green card holder from these seven countries.
The United States has had numerous presidents varying in political parties, beliefs, and ethical values. And in a country as diverse in race, religion, and culture as the U.S. is, it does not come as surprise that the country has yet to elect a president in which everyone supports. Every president has their flaws and every action of the White House is controversial and scrutinized. Martin Luther King Jr. once said “The ultimate measure of a man is not of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy”. With every presidency comes controversies which can define the legacy of that president and their impact on the country. Following more present day presidencies, President Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration is an extremely controversial topic around the world right now. Using an executive order President Trump has temporarily banned travel from seven countries.
Ever since the birth of America we have been a country built by immigrants. Many immigrants today come from the war torn middle east and latin America. Unfortunately many associate these immigrants with problems the country is facing leading the Trump administration to take drastic measures to secure our borders. Since the first time Trump mentioned a Muslim ban in December of 2015 many have called into question the legality of his plan to keep the country and our borders secure. On January 27 Trump signed an executive order entry into the U.S from citizens from seven predominantly muslim countries which include Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen. Ever since many problems have arisen regarding the legality of Trumps ban. In California Judge Dolly M. Gee ordered that Ali Khoshbakhti Vayeghan who had been deported to Iran be allowed to return to the U.S arguing that the order violated 14th Amendment and that it also violated one
Trump sparked great controversy after he passed a travel ban which banned people from seven different Muslim majority countries, and put a hold on the refugee program indefinitely. Unfortunately, Trumps grace upon this wonderful country of ours was put on hold when a judge transgressed his boundaries and deemed the act unconstitutional. Refugees have been a problem to the world for the past decade or so, and have caused hardship to many people across the world, putting stress on the many different governments and the citizens of them. For too long, we the world, are stripped of our happiness and pleasure as we watch these ragged, pathetic beings cling onto what little life they have left like a slaughtered lamb still fighting back although
The Native Americans believed that no one person owns the land; it belongs to everyone. They had lived peacefully in the lands and some tribes moved seasonally. Unfortunately, the Native Americans admirable concept of land ownership was not shared by the white colonists. The conquerors vanquished the lands mercilessly in their king’s name. The victors tore the lands apart for their own benefit regardless of how many people would get hurt. They discriminated the real owners and prevent them to enter to their own lands. Sadly, History is repeating itself; all the dark centuries of colonizing might have vanished, but instead, it has been replaced by the rise of nationalism. Political leaders all over the world are currently riding on a wave of nationalism by stoking fear and hostility towards refugees and migrants. The promise of politicians to reduce immigration in order to secure the nation’s security, the native workers’ wages or employment is merely a discrimination in disguise. Building a wall along the US-Mexico border is a great mistake. This egregious
According to the old immigration ban, the U.S temporarily applied the entry ban to the citizens coming from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. As soon as issued, the old decree resulted in great disorder at the US’s airports when a large number of people prevented from entry.
A wide variety of people were affected by President Trump’s initial order, which would bar for 90 days, people from seven predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. It also bans all refugees for 120 days, and Syrian refugees indefinitely. After a review of the screening process, the order says officials may give recommendations for indefinite bans. Other countries may be added to the list as well.
On January 27th, 2017, president Trump signed an executive order dealing with immigration. The order took effect immediately and sparked anger and confusion across the nation. Dozens of international travelers were detained at airports across the country. Most of those detained were simply caught up in a government communication limbo. The order placed a temporary moratorium on immigration from seven countries Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.
Each country has their own border policy when it come to undocumented immigrants. On January 25, 2017, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to begin an "impassable physical barrier" between the United States and Mexico (Warner). He took advantage of the power of his position and bans the idea of traveling for tourists from 7 other countries as well, not only illegal immigrants. These countries include Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Not letting those who are from those countries to travel to the United States as well as having national security stop them from getting through the airport is violating The Equal Protection Law(Brettschneider). Trump favors certain countries and religions over one another because
I chose Donald Trump because I trust him more than the women who say she is going to fix this country (Hillary Clinton). Yes, Trump has said many mean things to many people, but they are not as bad as what Hillary has said. In her own words, she said anyone who supports Trump is [BLANK] (SORRY NOT ALLOWED TO SAY BAD WORDS). She also called a man, ‘‘F****** Jew bastard”. She also took part in a racist joke in New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio would have had been a death of a Republican.
As stated in “The Universal Declaration of Human Rights”, no one should be discriminated and human rights belong to everyone no matter how different they are. When Donald Trump passed the ban against Muslims in the United States, this was a clear sign of discrimination. In the article, “Trump Fires Acting Attorney General Sally Yates for Refusing to Defend Immigration Order”, Trump’s order… affects immigration from seven countries that have predominantly Muslim population, temporarily bans certain travelers and places indefinite restriction on Syrian refugees.” Anyone who was from the seven targeted Muslim-majority countries were not allowed into the United
In the most recent american presidential election Donald J. Trump was elected president which left millions of people baffled at the thought how could this man who displays such bigotry and discrimination to anyone who wasn’t either himself or wearing one of those red hats, and even some of his own supporters have been abused by this most recent president of the United States. This has left millions of people around the globe petrified with fear at the thought of such a man as the leader of the free world, while also being afraid of the repercussions his election will have on the international political environment
It is a shock that Donald Trump did not include Saudi Arabia in his immigration ban. The author (Pamela Engel) of an article analyzing his decision is showing that Trump’s immigration ban from 7 Muslim countries does not include Saudi Arabia, the homeland of most of the terrorists of 9/11. She adds, “Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Lebanon were also left off the list” (Engel). This does not fully mean that she shows prejudice against some Arab nationalities, but it also does not mean that she is against racism. From her tone, some people might think that she is unhappy that Trump did not ban immigrants from the other Arab countries. Her opinion remains neutral across the rest of the article.
