Maintaining data bases has helped to identify market trends and customer needs which is also required by management to set the marketing strategies. Easier access to the product line or the information of the product can be accessed by the sales person through the data base at any time. Hence more accurate information and service will be provided to the customer leading to customer satisfaction and output. It will also track down sales person task and the completion of it before the deadlines. Overall use of data base helps an organization to bring out more productive output from its sales person and will help to determine and identify customers’ needs and market trends at the
These sales trends can be sorted by geographical regions, industry specific or by an individual customer. The query selection of this type of data would only be restricted by imagination of the staff. Accounting/finance data will also be captured within this database linking accounting/finance information directly to customer data. This will allow management to pull information from sales, inventory, billing and total revenue. The data is endless; the true challenge comes from pulling information that will allow us to make decisions that lead to our strategic goals of larger market shares. I have discussed what most management would consider the backbone of business intelligence software, data management that allows us to run queries and report the queries for managing and production purposes. Information delivery is also a capability that comes from business intelligence software, information delivery can come in the form of emails that are programmed to deliver specified queries on a given day of the week or month or even daily. These same queries can be web based allowing associates to access pertinent information anywhere in the world they might be with internet access. Obviously this type of access brings up security issues, but all of the platforms that I have researched come with a very robust security program.
In order to gather knowledge about the topic and create a basis for the forthcoming empirical research and analysis, a critical literature review has been conducted. The literature focuses on the theory of a sales plan, the B2B selling process and the diffusion of innovation. The results of the literature analysis will provide the answer to sub-question 1: "Which characteristics does the literature reveal on the development of a B2B sales plan?".
One of the main functions of any business is to be able to use data to leverage a strategic competitive advantage. The use of relational databases is a necessity for contemporary organizations; however, data warehousing has become a strategic priority due to the enormous amounts of data that must be analyzed along with the varying sources from which data comes. Company gathers data by using Web analytics and operational systems, we must design a solution overview that incorporates data warehousing. The executive team needs to be clear about what data warehousing can provide the company.
Data management is vital to any business as this is a key tool to an organisations business improvement, as you can refer back to data, and compare them against benchmarks. Analysing data can provide evidence for possible future structure such as identify trends, as well as indicate where improvements can be made. However there are strict procedures to be followed when collecting and storing data.
Data are “raw facts that describe the characteristics of an event or object” (Baltzan 6). Managers used to have to collect data manually along with analyzing it. This was a very time consuming process which could also be complicated in different aspects. If businesses lack data this can cause them to make unethical business decisions. For example, if they don’t have the correct data needed they may order in too many products or not enough causing a surplus or shortage in products/supplies. Being able to collect and analyze data quickly everyday helps make a business make better decision. Data in this day and age is important for a business to obtain so they can make the best possible decisions for their company to be successful. This can help a business know how much to order, how much was sold, and their customer numbers. A company can also see where they are getting most of their customers from when collecting data from surveys. Data allows us to see if a company is doing good or bad and

There are several important steps to consider when designing a database, as a well-designed database should be deployed and not only support the accuracy and integrity of business information but also avoid redundant data and assist with has enterprise level reporting tasked. If we analyze the
Now, in 2012 it is evident that his theory is true. In 2050, small business owners will make the above statement because like described about real estate in question one, the owner of the business may sell his database upon retirement. Along with real estate, data or information does not depreciate in value. There are some differences. Some databases have been collecting important data, related to customers, for years. This information could prove to be more valuable than real estate to a competitor in one’s respective industry. Information on customers is priceless. A detailed, in depth database is instrumental in finding out customer needs, habits and reactions to discomforts in the market and can contribute immensely to a small business owner’s success.
Recently, my work has been adjusting to the recent buy out of my company and I have been working with the program specialists to convert out data. This week’s information started to look familiar and then it hit me, the database management system I have been watching the programmer use was written in SQL. This information seems pretty straight forward, but we will see how well I do on the assignment this week. I also learned this week, that the way Amazon can customizes a person shopping experience is through data mining. SQL is a great way to organize information. SQL queries are excellent for sorting out and bringing up the information that is needed. Pulling up customers contact information based on a geographic location can be important if a company needs to update them on a new law that passed in the state. SQL language simplifies marketing research for marketers. As we went over the data mining example with Amazon, this is a great way to promote products. Not only does Amazon do this type of data mining but almost every other online shopping site uses data mining as well. The other day I purchased some new cleaning supplies on jet.com. when I got to the checkout link, there was a section that suggested items. Because I am new to healthier cleaning options, I clicked on these options so I could check out what other brands had to
Organizations large or small all strive to be successful through fostering a culture of great people, great processes, great products, and great results. Typically, three main functions play into an organization, marketing, operations, and financial accountability. Marketing generates the demand through the promotion of goods and services. Operations creates the goods, handles the movement of the goods, and ensures successful final delivery of the goods or service. The financial accountability is how the organization is doing financially concerning accounts receivable and accounts payable. Of the three, operations is arguably the most important to the success of an organization and has many key components that play into this success including operations strategies, supply chain, inventory control, and cost leadership to name a few.
IN CONSIDERATION OF THE COVENANTS and agreements contained in this Sales Agreement the parties to this Agreement agree as follows:
By implementing a data management system it will ensure that Alpha can keep accurate records which will allow the identification of key trends and indicators within their supply chain. In turn this will have the effect of increasing overall business efficiency and performance as staff and management can easily and actively identify strengths and weaknesses through the recording, storing, sharing and analysis of relevant business process outcomes.
Operations management is concerned with all operations inside the company related to activities, which include overseeing buys, stock control, quality control, stockpiling and logistics. A great deal of center is on proficiency and effectiveness of such procedures. A case of successful operations management in retail segment is evident in Zara’s business model (Tanuwe)
