Amazingly, George Orwell is the author of “Shooting an Elephant”. Shooting an Elephant takes place in 1920 Burma, India during the imperialism period. Importantly, Orwell interacts with three symbols that represent: The Burmese people, an elephant rifle, and an elephant, to show some of the evils of imperialism. Firstly, the Burmese people snicker, laugh, and sneer at Orwell. Therefore, it brought out the anger in the Burmese when Orwell arrived in the vicinity.
