The midnight fox is a classic american novel composed by Betsy Byars.
In the text it coveys many diverse themes, but two main themes are what it means to be human and relationships between humans and wildlife. Betsy Byars used various techniques to help this shine through in the novel such as imagery, emotive language, descriptive language and similies. This is what makes it a classic american novel.

Tom has this uncontrollable passion for the black fox. Betsy Byars explains this through "it was like a new game to me. All the rules I don't know yet, all I had was a strong desire to play". This quote is basically saying that Tom didn't know all about the black fox but had a desire to see what she was going to do and where she was going. The author also uses a similie to compare what it was like for Tom. Tom was so interested in the black fox he spend dozens of days sitting on rocks out on the fields and walking in the woods to try and see her. From the black fox's perspective, it seems as though she wasn't very afraid of Tom as Betsy Byars used this in her novel; "she froze for a moment, her bright golden eyes staring at me with curiosity rather than fear". Betsy Byars has used descriptive language and imagery in this quote from Tom to help us get a visual image of the black fox staring at Tom in the way that she did and descriptive language to help make it a bit more spectacular and
The three themes that stood out the most to me were: prejudice, leadership, and bravery. My first theme is prejudice, in my opinion it is not right to own someone as “property”
The use of animals as a way to represent humans is a very common theme with African storytelling. In “Lion-Child and Cow-Child”, both of the main characters are on a journey to leave their animal pasts behind. Lion-Child and Cow-Child are stuck in between, and are neither completely human nor completely animal. In order to complete their rite of passage, they must completely remove themselves from their animal pasts, in this case breaking ties with their animal mothers, in order to reach adulthood. The animal images comment on the fact that in the beginning these characters are not yet in harmony with nature. In “The Romance of the Fox”, mirroring is utilized to represent the connection between the boy and the fox. The fox is representative
The theme in the story could be at the first glance be the repressions of feelings like guilt and regret. I think the author does this intentionally and that there is a deeper meaning in this story. The story is layered with vivid imagery of nature and its contrasts. The wilderness is a vicious beast that gives nothing back to the ones who does not respect it. Camp Manitou represents the safe point in this story. After Louis moves outside this safe zone, the mystery of Lucy’s disappearance happens.
The theme I chose was racism and how it takes a big part in the book. In the first chapter James lived in Suffolk Virginia with his mother Ruth They live in a neighborhood with all black people. Ruth rides her bike around and she often plays her piano. “When i was fourteen, my mother took up two new hobbies: riding a bicycle and playing piano.”
A theme is the meaning behind a story, occasionally defined as the moral of the story. Themes can differ from one end of the world to the other, as it does in many books. The Droughtlanders by Carrie Mac is a futuristic version of the world which has been divided into two parts. The rich and the poor, the healthy and the sick, otherwise known as Keyland and Droughtland. Keyland is where all the rich people with extravagant lands and lives live. Droughtland is a disease-ridden land where all poor people are being forced to live. Society treats Droughtland poorly and they decide to take action. Thus starting the revolution. Carrie Mac portrays many themes in different ways throughout the book. However the major theme the book revolves around is that; No matter how rich or poor a person is, or what gender, race, or sexuality they are, in the end, they are all the same and deserve to be treated equally. In addition, the book shows that when everyone is treated equally there is so much more that everyone can accomplish. The theme is being portrayed through the narrative point of view, setting and atmosphere, and character development.
The beast they encountered were told to be “panthers, tygers, wolves, and other beasts of prey” prey meaning predators. Due to the animals hunting at night, explorers had to work quickly throughout the day. The men were scared at night afraid of possible attacks “frightful ditty ‘till day appears” meaning they could barely sleep with all the predators around them. The explorers had made an enemy with nature.
One way the author conveys the theme is through the main character’s actions. She strives to be like an American girl and is stubbornly blind
To begin, important theme that runs through the novel is the idea strong female characters like Taylor and Lou Ann. Furthermore, Taylor does not care about a man in her life and tries her best to do everything in her
A theme that is introduced during this part of the story is the nature of evil. Again, this is briefly discussed between Rainsford and Whitney on the ship. Both of these themes foreshadow the experience that Rainsford has later on the island. Their conversation early on in the text helps prepare the reader for what is to
The two major themes in this novel are revenge and survival. Revenge is major because Ishmael’s motive and many other soldiers’ motives throughout his soldier career was getting revenge on somebody. Survival is a major theme because everywhere in his story he is just trying to make it another day.
To begin with, one major theme that continuously played a part throughout the entire book is desire. To many of the characters, it was the one urge that they could never overcome. One
Every individual faces obstacles that are necessary to overcome, whether it be for equity, justice or honesty. Throughout The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, by Mark Haddon, the main character, Christopher tells his story as a socially awkward teenage boy who has a supposedly deceased mother and lives with his father. Being an adolescent, Christopher faces obstacles throughout the novel that he has to overcome in order to grow. The only thing is, Christopher is not like everyone else. While discovering the truth and embarking on certain adventures, Christopher is in search of a form of justice that he truly deserves.

To many readers, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain is known as the “Great American Novel”. It tells a story about a young boy and an escaped slave who develop an unlikely friendship while traveling down the Mississippi River. Twain explores many American literature themes in his writing. Three themes that appear frequently throughout the novel are freedom, nature, and individual conscience.
Theme gives the reader a general idea about what the piece of literature is about. The character’s action and thoughts takes part in creating the theme. Animal farm was a book about animals taking control of the farm from their tyrannic farmer. The animals attempts to make the farm a democracy, but Napoleon, the pig leader, takes over and eventually becomes the new tyrant. The Pearl was about a family, Kino, Juana, Coyotito, who catches a huge pearl. They go through a journey to get away from any harm such as the trackers. In the book Animal Farm and the book The Pearl, the two characters, Napoleon and the Doctor, created a theme that greed can change their perspective.
