Bees are widely seen as an annoyance, a pest or just another insignificant bug, but in actuality, bees play a crucial role in our environment. Honeybees are responsible for pollinating eighty percent of vegetables fruits and seed crops in the U.S. Bees are important towards both our ecosystem and economy, “They are critical pollinators: they pollinate 70 of the around 100 crop species that feed ninety percent of the world. Honey bees are responsible for thirty billion a year in crops.” (Bees extinct)
If bees were to go extinct, hundreds of crops and plants would also go down, including some of the delicious fruit everyone loves such as apples, mangos, strawberries peaches and countless others. Bees single-handedly feed the world, there’s a saying that bees accountable for one out of every three bites, which holds some truth due to the fact that bees pollinate so many different plants that are responsible for feeding livestock, and practically every single crop. Bees are the glue that holds everything together, perhaps being one of if not the most important bug, insect, animal or even organism, without them, the earth would be a rather unpleasant place.
