Introduction:
Hello, my name is Susan Stewart. I am a member of the Wheatland High School Grad Night Committee. The committee is comprised of Volunteers who plan and facilitate the Safe and Sober Grad Night event for Wheatland High School graduates. Committee members are meeting with local community businesses and leaders like yourself, to ask if they would be interested in supporting an event aimed at keeping our local teens safe on such a celebratory night.
Reasons:

The Gilroy teens were killed when the driver of the car they were riding in failed to negotiate a curve. The car struck a concrete drainage ditch. The driver and sole survivor of the crash was charged with driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter. At the crash scene, there were open containers of alcohol, drugs and paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Needless to say, graduation night has proven to be a dangerous time for many teens if they are not provided a safer alternative.
Supporting the Wheatland High School Grad Night event strengthens the community as a whole. Wheatland is a small, local farming community. The High School does not have the same level of funding that is afforded to other high schools located in larger communities, for example River Valley High School in Yuba City. In addition, the Wheatland community is a primary supporter of Beale Air Force Base. A large majority of Air Force personnel live in the Wheatland community and their children attend schools in the Wheatland School District. Supporting Grad Night will not only positively effect this small farming community but it will also enhance the morale and welfare of the Beale Air Force personnel and their families. Furthermore, providing a safe and sober place for graduates to celebrate will make the roads and community that much
In the article Driving to the Funeral the author Anna Quindlen talks about teens that are between the ages of 15-20 are the ones who are most likely to get in car crashes before graduating high school. Quindlen uses pathos, logos and ethos to inform parents with children for a higher driving age.
The alumni focused on enjoying life without drugs and supporting the current Drug Court participants. They had holiday parties, picnics, bowling, and other fun activities. They gave out gifts to members and their families on Christmas, Thanksgiving dinner was prepared for those who had no family to share it with,
Death among U.S. teens is led by vehicle crashes. In the year of 2013, around 2,163 teens were killed between the ages of 16-10 in the United States. Around 243,243 were treated in emergency departments for injuries that they suffered in motor vehicle accidents. Around 75% of teen drivers suffer in these accidents due to 3 major mistakes. Those major mistakes include a lack of scanning the road, distractions in the vehicle, and also going to fast for the conditions of the road.
Every 51 minutes in America, someone is killed in a drunk driving crash. A dangerous issue facing society today is the problem of teen drinking and driving. Currently an approximate of 10,076 people die in drunk driving crashes per year. If positive progress to ceasing this act does not happen, teens will continue to drink and drive putting everybody on the road at risk. Teens who drink and drive put everyone on the road at risk, causing serious crashes that could be preventable.
There are 5 main causes of death on Utah Highways for teenagers. Firstly, running off the road tops the charts at 30%. Second cause of death is speeding too fast which is at 22%. At 15% we have both failure to stay in the correct lane and overcorrecting. And in fifth we have a combination of failure to yield, driver distraction, and wrong side of the road at 11%.
I am sure that everyone of you have heard about aliens and UFOs. Indeed, we all have heard about the famous case of aliens and UFOs in Roswell, New Mexico. Most people might be interested in the topic of aliens, but I know that the majority of you just think of it as rumours and the existence of them are impossible. Therefore, I am standing here in front all of you to make you change your perspective. I am strongly confident that I have found the evidence of their real existence to convince all of you.
Ah, Graduation. It seems as if it’s a long way off from today. However, that does not mean that we should not construct ourselves for the best career changer of our lives. Even though, I am not much of a partier, I do know of a few venues I would like to remunerate myself with family and friends in attendance. I know I may have to have at least two parties. My home away from home is Pensacola, Florida. So it's just essential for me to want to have a commencement party with my friends residing in Florida.
Shari Roan in “Should the driving age be raised” talks about the controversial issue all American families face when it comes to teens driving and the safety of others. She states that in a nationwide analysis the number of fatal crashes between the ages 16 and 17 year old drivers have fallen and the number of fatal crashes between the ages of 18 and 19 year old drivers have risen by almost the same amount. She states that the combination of immaturity and inexperience makes teen drivers particularly vulnerable to motor vehicle accidents. She also explains that car crashes are the leading cause of death among teens resulting in 4,054 fatalities in 2008 according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in Arlington Va.
Trump nomination has me eating crow. There's a lot of things I can easily point out to that might of cause Hillary chance of winning. But the damn Electrola College is a complete BS. Al Gore lost to President Bush in 2000 with the popular vote, the same way Hillary lost to Trump. Essentially every vote doesn't count. That's completely asinine! Democrats lost the House, Senate, White House and apparently the Supreme Court. Yup! we are in herd of trouble.........
Thank you for your dedication to providing an excellent education system for all students in District 203. Your hard work has made the district have very high rankings and be one of the best districts in the state. As a student at Naperville Central High School, I understand that all school days are important and that they all count towards our grades. In spite of that, many Muslim students have no choice but to miss school due to an Islamic holiday called Eid. Therefore, there should be a day off on the only religious holiday that is celebrated by Muslims.
Our program was held on November 24th, at 6:00 pm. We decided to hold our program in the 2nd floor of the union at Weber State, to give attendees an easy and central location for them to travel to. We had transportation available with the shuttle at the Dee events center so families did not have to worry about transportation. We also had pizza, salad, and drinks available so they did not have to but dinner that night. We promoted our program on social media, and passed out flyers to busy locations to try and increase the attendance of our program.
Car mishaps are the leading cause of death for teens. It has become a huge factor affecting both the driver and passengers.
Teen driving is unsafe and dangerous, teen driving is the leading cause of teenage deaths in the United States with more than 5,000 teens dying a year. 17 year old Weston Griggs, killed himself and the 2 passengers he had in his car. But, this accident was no accident. Weston was going 70 mph in a 40 mph speed zone. The issue in this story is that young drivers like Weston, inexperienced and full of adrenaline are just hurting them selves and others by getting behind the wheel at such a young age. Teens between the ages 15 through 17 do not belong on the road. Outrageous amounts of teens are dying every year and these numbers are not changing, so why keep them on the road? Teen driving in the United States have three main problems
"When I became an emergency medical technician, I never imagined I would see friends lying dead at the side of the highway. But one night in February last year, that's what happened," says 19-year-old Marian College freshman David Zittlow of Bonduel, Wisconsin. David had just gone to bed and ready to sleep after a long day of work. He was not expecting to get paged back to work. At that moment his pager had gone off notifying him that there was an accident near by. When he arrived at the scene he could not believe what his eyes were seeing (Saunders). Drinking and driving is one of the most dangerous things on the road and like said “suicide.” The group of people most affected by this is adolescents. Minors are most likely to do irrational things when alcohol is involved. The way alcohol works it can cause a bigger effect on teen brains more than adults. Alcohol ruins many young teenage lives and is now one of the most critical endangerment leading to accidents on the road.
Third reason of accidents on the road is teenage drivers. “2,739 teenagers died in car accidents in the United States during 2008 ", (drivesteady.com). Some teenagers cause fatal accidents, because of immaturity and lack of experience. Teenagers are very impulsive. Although not intending to hurt anyone, they sometimes drive very aggressively. It is not difficult to find teenagers driving with one hand on the steering wheel, seat pushed back, and with loud music playing. In traffic they go wild, trying to seek attention. They underestimate the risk of what they are doing. All these acts result in serious consequences on the road. Many accidents of young drivers result from their own mistakes.
