Or is it the theory from the first book of the Bible, Genesis, that the almighty and powerful God created the heavens and the Earth over a course of six days and six nights? No one actually knows the answer because no person that is alive today was alive when the Earth was created. The Bible says that the Earth is only 6,000 years old, but because of carbon dating and other processes, scientists are able to prove that things such as trees and even snow-ice are much older than 6,000 years. From a debate on the theory of evolution versus creationism between Bill Nye and Ken Ham, Mr.Nye showed a picture of long poles of ice with tiny bubbles in them. Each layer of these bubbles was built up over the yearly cycles of winter through summer. By testing the ice, scientists have found that many of the poles have 680,000 layers of ice; if each layer is formed from one year that means these poles of ice are 680,000 years old. That is around 113 times
