The best US president was easily Abraham Lincoln. He accomplished a lot of things as president such as putting an end to slavery as well as he had plenty of amazing speeches that had some of the best quotes and these together made the people love him.
The way president Lincoln ended slavery was tactful and necessary. He initially started as "antislavery" and transitioned to emancipation. The quote "Abraham Lincoln issued the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, declaring all slaves in rebel states should be free as of Jan. 1, 1863," (Paul) expresses how he even had a preliminary proclamation to test the waters first. If it wasn't a gradual change away from slavery then the southern states would have detached from the rest of the US and been their own country where slavery was allowed. The way Abraham Lincoln did this was by instating laws that forbade slavery.

Abraham Lincoln is regarded by many Americans as the greatest president to ever hold office in the history of the United States, and his reputation is definitely well deserved. Lincoln wasn't scared to stand up and fight for what he knew was right. He was convinced that within the branches of government, the presidency alone was empowered not only to uphold the Constitution, but also to protect, and defend it. Lincoln was able to lead our country and preserve the Union, keeping the United States from splintering during the devastating times of the Civil War. Abraham Lincoln started all that before he was in office, so imagine what he did when he became president of the United States. When Lincoln was elected there was a long series of policy clashes between the South and the North. The clash wasn’t just about slavery. It was a clash of elites. The Northern elite wanted economic expansion. Such as, free land; free labor, free market, and much more. Lincoln had all of this in mind, even the slaves. The slaves saw Lincoln as their ticket to freedom. The South was for slavery, so when they notice Lincoln was trying to abolish slavery they started to secede from the union. Lincoln tried to get some of the states back and more seceded. The confederacy was formed; the civil war was on.
Abraham Lincoln is by far our most revered president in the history of the United States. He had a strong moral vision of where his country must go to preserve and enlarge the rights of all her people, but he was also a good man with a strong sense of character and a great discipline in the art of law; and he sought to continue the great and mighty legacy of the Constitution. He believed that the Founding Fathers had drawn up the Constitution without the mention of slavery because they felt that it would later die of a natural death. He would soon learn that that would not be the case.

Many were shock that he had overcome several prominent continents in the Republicans Party’s nomination for president in 1860. In the North many people agreed that is was fair to let the slaves be free, but for the south who need slaves for picking cotton were not so happy. People in the South, called the confederates hated the idea of freeing the slaves, and this is how the Civil War started.

Looking at what Thomas Jefferson accomplished as president of the United States is absolutely mind boggling. In order to be considered a great president you must be loyal, trustworthy, resemble great leadership, and be able to truly take the lead. Falling under each category, Thomas Jefferson was definitely the greatest president. Thomas Jefferson was the greatest president because he was the author of the declaration of independence, obtained the Louisiana Purchase, and wrote The Virginia Statue for Religious Freedom. If this alone does not make Thomas Jefferson the best president, then I think my paper is about to persuade you otherwise.
Abraham Lincoln was the best president ever, there is no doubt about it that he wasn’t a bad president. There are plenty of reasons to list Abraham Lincoln as a great president. Anyone could list 5 reasons why Abraham Lincoln was such a good president, like fighting in the Civil War, the Emancipation Proclamation, the Gettysburg Address, working young, and doing his mom’s clothes.
Christian Solino Date:2/9/18 Period:8 Intro: Was Andrew Jackson one of the best Presidents. Andrew Jackson was the only president who not only balanced the national budget, but also paid off the national debt. He also abolished the National Bank of the United States which was a front for wealthy bankers to print fiat money and control and manipulate the national economy as they do through the Federal Reserve today. He also advocated high tariffs to promote American industry and staying out of foreign alliances/entanglements. Jackson also is the only President who has stood up to the U.S. Supreme Court and refused to comply with an ruling he considered illegal and unconstitutional.

In Larry Madaras and James M. SoRelle’s book Taking Sides: Clashing Views in U.S. History Volume 1: The Colonial Period to Reconstruction the topic as to whether or not Abraham Lincoln was America’s greatest president during and after the eighteenth century is explored and debated by Phillip Shaw Paludan and Melvin E. Bradford. Paludan believes Lincoln was America’s greatest president on the grounds that he freed the slaves and kept the Union while the Civil War was going on. Bradford on the other hand believes Lincoln abused his power while being in office and did not follow the goals the Founding Fathers had set in the eighteenth century. Though Lincoln may have gone about his presidency a different way than others had previous to him, he still proved to be a great leader during the Civil War and was in fact America’s greatest president.

Throughout our nation's history it has endured 43 presidents, some of them have been remembered as great men who served our country well and made it a better place. Others are more well known for the scandals they caused and others are hardly remembered at all. Despite the amount of presidents that we have had there has never been a president who stands out as the best president ever. Although there are two presidents from the post world war 2 era, each from two separate parties that I believed both had some of the skills to be the best president ever.
