How could someone live in hiding for over two years? Anne Frank did just that with her family and another family. Anne Frank was only fifteen when she died but she still wrote a life-changing book that many people have read. Anne's diary reveals a young girl with a promising future as a writer (“Anne Frank 2”). Anne was born in Germany and moved to Amsterdam to pursue a life in hiding. Even though Anne had a very short life, she wrote a diary that has created its own legacy for her.

Anne Frank was the second daughter born to parents, Otto and Edith Frank. Her full name is Annelies Marie Frank. She was born on June 12th, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany (Biography.com). Otto's family owned a successful Jewish business and banking community in Frankfurt, …show more content…

No one knows who it was and how they found out. Anne, Edith and Margot were given the numbers between A-25060 and A-25271. Anne's mom died from starvation at Auschwitz in early 1945. Peter, Anne's friend, died at a concentration camp in Austria. Anne's father was the only member of their group to survive. He was liberated from Auschwitz by Soviet troops in January 1945. Anne and Margot Frank survived death at Auschwitz and were sent to Bergen-Belsen. They died there from typhus and their bodies were thrown into a mass grave.

Anne died in March of 1945 when she was only fifteen. When Otto returned to Amsterdam, Miep Gies gave him five notebooks and some 300 loose papers. Most people don't know this but Margot also kept a diary. Anne was inspired to write a diary by the Dutch government so later people would know what life was like under the Nazis (“Anne Frank 1”). In conclusion, Anne's diary that she wrote in her very short life will forever continue to impact lives. Anne survived life in hiding by writing different types of literature. Anne probably didn’t know when she was writing her diary that it would be the second most read book after the Bible. The things that Anne wrote to keep busy did more than pass the time of readers, but has changed reader’s perspective of life during the Holocaust.
