Who Is Thomas Edison A Hero

Which American inventor do you think did the greatest thing for America and the rest of the world? Many people will say different things, but there is one prominent inventor who stands out among all others: Thomas Edison. Thomas Edison was a great inventor who we owe many thanks to for creating the very first safe, commercially available incandescent light bulb.

After Thomas Edison's successful invention of the stock printer, he learned that the market forces are important for engineering inventors. He then learned from his mistake, not knowing much about that specific market, and ended up creating a few of his best inventions. As time passed and Edison had more practice with inventions, he made more and more inventions that deeply impacted the world. Edison was able to look at the world and see what it flaws, what is missing from the world, and find an invention that will solve the issue. With his successful run of inventions, He moved to new jersey where he built an independent industrial research facility. ?During the past millennium, there have been many heroes that have helped society. All heroes have amazing qualities, but the three that make a true hero are intelligence, creativity, and leadership. Intelligence means the ability to be very smart and then to help others around them. Creativity is the ability to think “outside the box” or in a different, yet superior way. Leadership is the ability to lead in such a way that they help accomplish important tasks to help a community, state, or country. The hero who has used those qualities to their best ability was Winston Churchill which is why he is indeed a true hero.

Proven by his 1,093 patents, Edison was a person who never gave up which ultimately resulted in his success. Edison got his start as a traveling telegrapher who had hearing problems; this was his motivation for taking action to make typical human functions possible for him. Inventing devices for his benefit led him to realize he wanted to invent full time (Thomas Edison). Through brilliance and innovation, Thomas Edison sparked the change from what life was like in early America to what life is now by creation and improvement.

Thomas Edison was an inventor who achieved many goals in his lifetime as well as having many failures.He didn’t give up and kept trying in order to succeed.He also invented many new things,which we now use in our everyday lives.Without his hard work and success we would not have some of the things we use today.

At age 12, Thomas Edison sold candies and newspapers as a train boy on a Michigan railroad to make money. Shortly, he published his own small newspaper and hired some boys to sell it in the train. It was pure chance when he saved a three-year-old boy and was repaid by the father by teaching him to operate a telegraph. He then started work as a telegraph operator for several offices before being employed for the Western Union Telegraph Company in 1868. Just within one year, Thomas quit this job to begin his career as an inventor after he earned $40,000 for the rights of his first invention, an improved stock ticker. The main failures involved the Kinetophone and coming up with effective mining techniques to increase the extraction of iron ore deposits in the earth. One of his many failures involved the contraption known as the Kinetophone. Edison wanted to create motion pictures that could release sound into two ear tubes as a person was watching it but with demand for the gadget at a minimal it was soon forgotten. Another defeat for Edison came in the form of iron ore. Ten years he tried to develop a practical way to mine the ore to meet the grand demands placed by the steel mills’ of Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, in order to financially support his plan of the excavation of iron ore he sold all of his stocks to the General Electric and unable to create an effective machine to separate the iron from the ore he admitted defeat. By that time Edison had lost all of his investment money and was completely broke.

Equally, there are only two type heroes that you will ever recognize, the ones you know, and the ones that will never get the recognition they deserve. A hero will never take the easy way out, they will do what other people would not. Heroes are like George Washington, Abe Lincoln, and not to mention, Gandhi. People such as George Washington will be written in the history books for eternity and given the awareness they deserve.

Many people have their own heroes, be it big or small. Heroes who save their lives or make their lives better or inspire them to do activities. For me, my hero is on a technicality. While I never knew him personally, he is still responsible for creating a show that inspired me to do animation when I was little. On top of that, the show this person has created became a very popular and highly influential force in the pop culture world and became an icon. It touched the hearts of millions in more ways than one, from bringing either a slight chuckle or a huge impact on a person’s life. That show would be “SpongeBob SquarePants”, and that creator would be none other than Stephen Hillenburg.

After Thomas Edison left the field of telegraphy, he began to develop his career as an independent entrepreneur. By doing this, he managed to form lots of partnerships that would help him in his upcoming career as an inventor. Edison had his eyes on the prize because he developed his products only for the highest bidders. Often, that was Western Union Telegraph Company, or one of its competitors[2].
