Why are people shoplifting? Reason people may have shoplifted is the public, sibling, or wanting to gain attention. There are approximately 27 million shoplifters,25 percent are kids, and 75 percent are adults. An average shoplifter would steal at least twice a week. In my case shoplifting occurs more than twice a week. I was never told if shoplifting was normal or not normal. Shoplifting made me happy whenever I shoplifted. I soon learned shoplifting is a trouble maker and is not something to be proud of. Like a paralyzed person I stood and stare in dazed as I was ensured shoplifting is normal. When we were younger, we used to go Target, Dollar Tree, and Wal-Mart every weekend. We were like a baby who cry in need when we want something. Knowing shoplifting banned people, my sister and I start to shoplift beginning somewhere small such as Dollar Tree. My sibling and I were at the age where glam to look like a model was introduces, therefore we often stolen makeup such as eyeshadow palette, mascara, and bright bold lipstick. Entering the store with confidently, wearing baggie long sleeve with
During retail theft, the stolen items don’t just disappear into thin air. Every item that is taken without being paid for in the store still has to be paid for by the company and manufacturer. This can cause major setbacks in store production and companies a lot of debt. They are handing over money they are not getting back. Being in this situation, forces them to raise prices to stay in business or pay off what has been taken. Shoplifters who don’t get

The obvious reason that someone would 'love' shoplifting would be that she wanted to have items she could not obtain with her current paycheck. Shoplifting is a major problem in today’s world. I myself was recently caught shoplifting and now I have to face the consequences for the bad mistake I made. The temptation of not paying for something is very big factor in why people steal. The shoplifter thinks he is getting a product for free and doesn't know what he's really doing to himself and the community. Shoplifting affects yourself, your local neighborhood and the world population.

It is believed that about 6% of Americans have a shopping addiction; of the 6% 90% are women. To a shopping addict trips to the mall become the main way to cope with stress, even when it is having a negative impact on the rest of their life. The addiction will affect their relationships and finances. (Omniomania: Shopping Addiction, 2010) It is a never ending merry-go-round; the stress from relationships and finances just reinforces the urge to shop more in order to feel better.
I believe that if I were in that situation, I would try not to steal unless it became a life or death situation for me, or anyone that depended on me. I would try to avoid looting because I know that it would be intentionally harming the company that I was looting for, and also the community, both the economy and the reputation. Nonetheless, I believe that human lives are worth more than the stolen merchandise. If I or someone who depended on me were on the brink of death, I would steal from local stores to protect

Usually, this group of people was proud of what they had managed to steal, bragging about their success. Also in the videos, there were two black police officers still in uniform walking around Wal-Mart and filling their cart. They refused to answer questions about their actions, but rather said that they were just patrolling the scene. When they were directly asked about why they had items in their shopping cart, they adamantly refused that they were looting. These two women did not show shame or pride, but rather refused to acknowledge their

Scenario 1 – The actions I would take is tell that one friend to stop because we can get arrest for shoplifting. Also I would take actions in my own and I would put whatever he or she that person has shoplift back.
