Why College Is Worth the Money?

Education is always a famous topic for students to talk about, they should understand deeply that how education is playing a big role in their life. Allan Bloom claims that " Education is the movement from darkness to light." In other words he is saying that education is the key to opening a better future. He tries to indicate that education is very important in human society, and attending college is even more necessary for everyone, especially for young people. This college education is critical to gain knowledge, to have a better job and achieve a higher standard of living.

Why is college so important? Why would anyone want or need to spend so much time or more money than they could ever afford to receive a piece of paper saying they attended college for the last four years of there life and that they are somehow more important than the ones who didn’t? Why be in debt for countless years after graduation, having to spend a large portion of your valuable life paying off your loans and whatever the university in which you attended consumed from you? Is the education you’re getting out of everything all worth it? Crazy as it may seem, the answer is simple. Yes.

college is great oppurtunity for some people. Here are the reasons why it has amazing oppurtunities, helps you choose an occupation, and it is worth the cost.

In the United States alone, roughly about 20.2 million people are attending American universities and colleges as of the fall of 2015 (“Back to School Statistics”). Students around the country are paying thousands upon thousands of dollars to receive a degree in a field of their choice, where they may or may not be able to use to find work once they graduate. Is college really worth the money? Is it worth putting ourselves tens of thousands of dollars in debt to receive a diploma that doesn’t guarantee a job after graduating? I believe it isn’t. I believe that driving up the cost of education is utterly unreasonable and outrageous in a society that expects young adults to earn a degree to be successful in life.

College, is it really worth it? Some say yes, some say no. Some have not even gone to college, and the reason for that, is the ridiculous amount a person has to pay, endure, and live through.

If you are hesitant on if college is worth it or not then be hesitant no more; it is worth it. Some people would say that college education is not worth the cost of tuition. I disagree with this statement. College education is worth the cost of tuition. This is because, when you have a college education you end up making an average of 2 times more than a person with a high school diploma and also there will be more job opportunities. Even if you end up not using your diploma from college to get a job it will still look better on job application so, you are usually more likely to be chosen for that job. One other reason is, the unemployment rate is much less for employees with college diplomas rather than high school diplomas.

With everyone going to college these days, it makes us wonder if it’s worth it. Is it worth the time or money? Why should students go to more school when they could go get a job? Going to college is not worth it. Today, it costs more to attend college than ever before; not to mention that some jobs don’t even require a college degree. Let’s look at some reasons to skip college.

In every news article or advertisement about college you notice that the benefits of college are a “stable” job, a very successful life and a whole lot of money. But are those the only benefits of college? No, of course not. College is about the experience and what you gain from it while you are still there. However, the price to attend college can be impractical.

At this time in our society a college education is no longer a choice or privilege, but rather a requirement. We are practically fostered and brain washed to believe that one must have a higher education in order to be considered successful in life. There is a quote that goes "if you think education is expensive, try ignorance." But as technology constantly advances and computers are running just about everything, is a college education really necessary? There are some people whom have never set foot in a college and are doing better than those that have their master's degree.

For decades, America has pushed the idea of getting a college education as the key to career opportunities that expand beyond a high school education. However, obtaining a college education has become a vital cause of college students forgoing into bankruptcy or claiming default on loans due to not being able to pay off student loans. The question is, is going to college still beneficial to society where tuition continues to rise and the students’ debt continues to increase? I believe that college is still a vital opportunity that people should take advantage of despite the risks.

The path to success has been remodeled over the years by different generations due to the developing mind. College does educate and challenges people to do more and think more. We can clearly see this example because the developers of this debate are both college graduates. Later on in life more and more questions will be asked and answered. College has an importance that is so popular but that importance has a value. The developing world and society will always view college as something necessary no matter what because is has proved to be a path and a escape to a better life. People that have specific circumstances and cannot pursue college have often been denied of a huge opportunity that can be life changing to almost everyone. No one can judge intelligence based on economical stability or tests, but what the educational system seems to be judging intelligence on is the bank account of the projected student. There is a saying that says "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance." But as technology is constantly advancing and computers are running almost anything, is a college education really necessary? There are people whom have never set foot in a college and are doing better than people who have their master's degree. There are views from both sides that contain a valid argument.

In the present day, college has been drilled in high school students heads’ that college is an unquestionable requirement, in fact, 94% of parents expect their child to attend college. (Source F) Teenagers are told that if we do not attend college, than the rest of our lives will be a major struggle. The debate is, is college legitimately worth the monetary value? As I view it earning an academic degree is accountable because it will be worth it in the time to come, you're more likely to land the job you desire, and people with degrees make significantly more than those who don’t have a degree.

Why is college so important? A few years ago, most people only obtained their high school diploma and would receive any job in the market, but colleges have become the twenty-first century key to success. Jobs are now being given to those who are more educated and college provides this extra education. It is not the same as high school. High school education consists of a more general knowledge, which is a small amount of information about all the topics, but college is focused on the major. College graduates have more comprehension in their area than those with a high school diploma. As President Theodore Roosevelt once said, “A man who has never gone to school may steal from a freight car; but if he has a university education, he may steal the whole railroad.” (Chicago Tribute). His point is that the more educated a person is; the higher goals they can obtain. College is the best way to succeed because it provides more education about deeper knowledge and moral value. It also opens up more job opportunities, and practical knowledge about the discipline and enlightened understanding.
