Rome was a great civilization that lasted for years. The civilization was so successful and strong that it had power over most, if not all of it’s surrounding lands. They had powerful soldiers and great armies that successfully fought to protect Rome, and also to invade new lands to conquer for Rome. They adopted many types of belief and cultures from the new lands they conquered. Rome seemed to be unstoppable at this point, but however, there had to be a time where Rome would fall. The fall of Rome was not just some random occurrence, but instead Rome fell due to various problems. There were so many problems that occurred socially that damaged Rome. These reasons would vary, but they all lead to the fall of Rome. A reason why Rome fell, socially wise was that Christianity, a new religion was on the rise. This spread of Christianity impacted the roman citizens and other cultures, this challenged the Roman way of life. Soon many Roman citizens were losing their traditional values, leaving the Roman way of life to a stop point. The rise of Christianity was one of the biggest reasons why Rome fell socially, but it was not the only reason. Rome fell socially due to need of more food, because of the enormous Roman Army that would soon fall. The need for more food pretty much starved the people back in Rome. There was not enough food for everyone, making food more expensive than it’s usual price. This would lead to the poor people of Rome not having enough money to afford food. This lead to the poor Roman people being unhappy and rebelling against. Of course, this would result in Rome being weakened. Not having enough food for everyone made people unhappy, these hard times would test them. However, there is one more reason to why Rome fell socially, Rome fell socially because of the lower class people, the Plebeians not having enough jobs or employment opportunities. Not having enough jobs was a huge part in the fall of Rome, socially wise. Not having enough jobs leads to …show more content…

The seemingly unstoppable Roman empire was certain to fall in a matter of time. Even though Rome was majorly affected by external attacks, I feel like the fall was because of the internal decline. The economy and social issues were the key factors that led to the descent of the large empire. A vast amount of their problems came from within the city. Every decision that Rome made had an extensive effect on the city itself and the rest of the world. Many foolish decisions made by terrible emperors weakened the city and eventually cause the many aspects of Roman life to crumble.
In conclusion, the reasons that led to Rome's decline was the unstable government, the foreign invasion and military weakness, and disease. These three reasons are the most primary reasons that led to the decline of the powerful, wealthy, Roman
Rome was once a great beautiful kingdom. Ruled by many emperors and has taken bold and great actions. But following up with those actions lead to big problems. This made Rome get weaker and weaker, causing Rome to have a great downfall ending their history. But Rome’s great accomplishments and failures are still looked upon
The economy of Rome was suffering. Rome had a great deal of money but they didn’t know what to use it for. Too much money was being used to provide protection and keep unity in the empire. Cities began to crumble that became poor and some cities even began to lose control. The senate became dishonest and then they started giving away their spots in office. Some people murdered or assassinated the emperors (Doc. A), and that’s when city revolts fired up and citizens of Rome started rebelling against government. The civilizations economic rottened.
The Roman Empire was a vast territory that expanded to three different continents. They were a place of honor, tradition, and respect. Rome has had several different periods, some of peace, and some of violence or unrest, but those were solved quickly and effectively. However, such a magnificent empire could not hold up under the strains that were slowly causing it to collapse. Rome began to face many problems that together allowed the fall of the Roman Empire. The three main problems that caused Rome to fall were invasions by barbarians, an unstable government, and pure laziness and negligence.
(Doc B) One of the primary reasons that Rome fell was that they had a poor government. First of all,Rome may have had good rules, but they did not enforce them, for example too many people were exempt from constriction. This was a problem because they didn't have enough people in the army and their wasn't as much fairness for everyone. Also Rome failed to enforce their laws. According to priscus, wealthy lawbreakers in Rome were able to get away with crimes. This was a problem because to many people got exempt for conscription, and the wealthy got away with crimes. Overall,Rome had a lot of inside reason to its fall or destruction.
Julius Caesar once said, ” It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.” The Ancient Roman Empire was one of the world’s greatest empires. Beginning in around 750 BCE with a small settlement no one knew it would become a great empire making many discoveries that we still live by today. Although the empire was strong they started to run into some problems. Starting in 44 BCE with Caesar becoming emperor and continuing into 500 CE, the city was declining fast. Although some researchers may say that natural disasters were the main reason for the decline of Rome, however the primary reasons for the decline of Rome were political corruption and military mistakes. Political corruption was a main reason for the fall of Rome because there were higher-class people trying to take all the power which made many people unhappy causing assassinations and unfairness. Military mistakes were also a big problem because the military was too lazy to fight causing invasions and unnecessary deaths.
One reason why Rome fell was because of weak political leadership. For instance Document A it shows that in a 50 year span (235-285 C.E.) they had 22 emperors. This show that they had weak leadership because they only lasted from a couple of months to 2-3 years. Also page 54 chapter 2 paragraph 4 it says “Politicians became more interested in financial gain than in public service. As a result, many citizens lost their sense of pride in the government.” This shows that weak leadership contributed to the fall
There were many factors to the decline of Rome and, the most significant is Disaster + Disease. First and foremost there was many catastrophic events that occurred in this time period. One of these destructive events were the when the seas of the Mediterranean's water perished which put them into a tremendous drought. That was very harmful to their ways of life. The incident killed many civilians. The immense drought also hurt many prized areas of land that could help us. This drought was very toxic to the empire. This was a great contender to the fall of Rome with the following destructive elements. After some time the seas of the Mediterranean retreated but this time so hard coming with a colossal flood. This was also too much
The Roman Empire fell because of many reasons. They had a lot of problems with their empire and government, but the primary reason for the fall was the military. The military was not as strong as it had been before Rome became so powerful. They did not defend Rome as well as they could have. They also didn’t have as many people coming into the military as the amount of people dying in battle.
The Roman Empire will forever go down in history as one of the greatest empires in the world. Centuries of imperialism and prosperity led the question to be asked, for what reason did Rome fall? There was no single reason to the fall of Rome, there were numerous things happening in progression to each other, causing the crumbling of the magnificent Roman Empire. After the Punic wars with Carthage, Rome captured a vast area of new territory.
It is true that there are other great reasons why Rome fell. For example, legal injustice which is a quality relating to unfairness or undeserved outcomes. reference to a particular event or situation, or to a larger status quo. In Western philosophy and jurisprudence, injustice is very commonly -but not always- defined as either the absence or the opposite of justice. However, the three reasons represented above- political assassinations, foreign invaders, and especially natural disasters- provide the best explanation for why Rome finally crumbled in the 5th century
The fall of Rome was not caused by one thing in particular. If we would learn from the past we could avoid many of the problems we have today. The family unit was very important to Rome but with time it began to weaken because of changes in the Roman’s way of life. There are always poor people and after they suffer enough they get mad about it and try to do something about it. Things were bad enough for the poor but when Rome started conquering other countries and bringing back slaves to do a lot of the work it got even worse for the poor people in Rome. Then, with time, the slaves got unhappy and a big revolt weakened a big part of Rome. Then, there were other countries invading Rome and in their weakened state the Barbarians were instrumental
The fall of the Roman Empire happened slowly. There were many reasons for why Rome fell. One of the reasons say the empire was too big and there were not enough soldiers to guard the empire, some of which were not loyal because they did not want to be a part of Rome. Another reason says that Rome fell because citizens of Rome had to pay heavy taxes for the army, which made the economy weak. The taxes made many citizens go into poverty. Also, many Romans were unemployed. Small farmers could not keep up, so they tried to find jobs in the city, but there were still not enough jobs. A third reason to explain why Rome fell is that there was corruption and a decline in spirit of citizenship. Some emperors wasted large amounts of amounts of money
The Roman Empire was one of the most powerful political, social, and economic structures in western civilization. Unfortunately, an empire so strong was bound to collapse one way or another because of the many problems beginning to form before the actual fall in 475 AD. These problems included some of the social aspect, some of the economic aspect, and some of the political aspect. Above all reasons, the social problems of the Roman Empire are proven to be the most fatal because it was the population of Rome that helped cause its decline.
