Why Do Children Need Creative Play

Whether children should take part in organized activities or engage in creative and imaginative play is arguable on both fronts. Creative play allows for more independent thinking and gives a child the ability to engage in activities that they choose to do, and learn how to solve their own problems, rather than activities they are directed to do, which hinders their ability to solve problems on their own. Organized activities allow children to enage in activities in which they would play a part in a larger group, which allows for a child to feel more involved and important. Through creative group play, a child has the ability to learn their own self weaknesses and strengths, while also learning about what it means to be a part of a team. When a child is given set instructions on how to do things, they aren't given the ability to use their imagination and learn how to solve problems on their own. Children would be able to learn while they play, and are given the freedom to learn in a way that best fits them as an individual. Parents are able to overlook creative play and be involved with their child in order to communicate with them about the activities they enjoy doing, along with, having the ability to give them advice on different ways they can solves problems.
