Although the E Cigs may have noble use, officials believe that companies are using marketing ploys to target youth. A certain brand of electronic cigarettes “Blue Ecigs” spent approximately 50 million dollars in 2013 on marketing. Some companies are also using celebrities to make smoking e cigs look cool. That’s a bad thing that will going on in your body if you smoke e-cigarettes. E-cigarettes carry nicotine that is very harmful. Most teenagers in U.S in the past year are emerged to try the new e-cigarettes. But studies show that harmful to the developing teenager brain. No teenager, no young person, should be using any tobacco or nicotine-containing products. Unlike true cigarettes, electronic cigarettes do not burn tobacco. Despite various claims via online websites and advertisements, electronic cigarettes are not a safe alternative to regular cigarettes. Often advertised as having no dangerous chemicals, many people would think that they are completely safe because of these misleading ads. However, electronic cigarettes still have toxic chemicals inside of them, and even more that are created when smoking them. The biggest reason cigarettes are addictive is because of a drug called “nicotine” inside of them. This drug creates a feeling of pleasure in the brain, but it is short lived, turning that pleasure into irritability and eventually addiction. Besides nicotine, e-cigs also have other ingredients such as aldehydes (which kills cells around the mouth and throat), nitrosamines (which can cause lung cancer), and even some metals. Because of these dangerous chemicals that are still present in electronic cigarettes, they are not a safe alternative to cigarettes, the presence of nicotine being the biggest reason.
David Byrne, a Scottish musician and songwriter, once said “The true face of smoking is disease, death and horror- not the glamour and sophistication the pushers in the tobacco industry try to portray.” Before 1964 when it became public that smoking is harmful and unhealthy, everybody smoked; including children under the age of twelve. Cigarettes have gotten restrictions on their sales, but a certain cigarette has not. These “modified” cigarettes are called e-cigarettes. They are electronically powered and vaporize liquid nicotine. Many people think that e-cigarettes differentiate from original tobacco cigarettes in numerous ways which is why these electronic devices are sold to the public without any restrictions. According to my research

There is an ongoing debate on to who these flavored e-cigarettes are being marketed towards, with concerns that they encourage children and teenagers to vape. While there is no clear answer, it stands to reason that advertising plays a huge part in e-cigarette sales across all demographics.
Even though many people may think that e-cigarettes are a healthier alternative than smoking cigarettes they could be wrong. Numerous amount of e-cigarette smokers love their cigarette devices aka “vapes” and so they choose to make them distinctive by modifying them and making them blow huge clouds of smoke, so they can taste a richer flavor from the juices that they pour inside the device. According to Pepper, “e-cigarettes do not rely on combustion or contain cured tobacco, so they produce far fewer harmful constituents than regular cigarettes” (Pepper). Though e-cigarettes may seem to be a great substitute for cigarettes, they are highly addictive and the modifications that people do to these devices aren’t helpful. In addition e-cigarettes
The Center of Disease Control’s (CDC) study found that 1.8 million middle and high school students admitted to using electronic cigarettes (e-cigs) in 2012. The article “Smoke Signals” by Alessandra Potenza from the Upfront Magazine states that e-cigs are becoming more popular, but also are becoming more controversial. Electronic cigarettes, known as e-cigs are becoming more popular among youth and because they are unregulated, U.S. officials are worried.
Electronic cigarettes are devices, which deliver a nicotine containing vapor to the user. This popular new product, is entirely unregulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, with little known public health effects. With no warning labels, most users think that vaping, (inhale/exhale vapor from electronic cigarette), is safe. Originally electronic cigarettes were intended to be used as a device that users would use to help them quite smoking. But instead not only do they keep people hooked on its use, but also appeal to the younger users. Once manufactures started adding flavoring to the e-juice, (liquid substance used in e-cigarettes), many people accused the companies of using these flavors to attract and appeal the teens. Unlike
The flavoring in these devices have FEMA GRAS which is used in food, so companies have allowed us to believe it is a safe product. FEMA GRAS is used in food because it is safe to be ate, but FEMA GRAS is not thought to be a safe substance to inhale. It is clear, that the safety of these devices do not seem to be as safe as they are marketed. These devices are not FDA approved and have not been around long enough to have complete secure evidence. There are a lot of questions about the safety of electronic cigarettes and the effect they have on the human health and on users and
creasing smokes an E-cig of American college students under the age of 20 who have never smoked before.
