People can put themselves at risk because people should do want they want to do and wish. Another reason they put themselves at risk is because people can count on helicopters and other people to come and rescue them but they need to know knowledge. Knowledge is the answer to all the questions and those questions are really easy to answer. When you are climbing Mount Everest you need to be experience to climb.
The risk is you falling for your death and nobody could help or save you when you are helping other people you also need to be aware of them and yourself. A couple years ago, a Ranger had died from trying to rescue a couple climbers but the ranger and the climbers all died but he had put himself at risk. Up on Mount
Anybody who takes a full role in society takes risks: crossing the road, using a bus, driving a car, and talking to people they do not know. Risk may be physical (injury and accident), emotional (humiliation, sense of failure), or mental (stress).
There are many reasons why people take risks even though it is crazy and impossible. For example, in the memoir, “The Other Side of the Sky”, it shows that Farah Ahmedi is climbing a mountain with a prosthetic leg. In the fictional story, “Rikki-tikki-tavi”, in this story the mongoose, Rikki-tikki-tavi takes the risk of going into a snake 's burrow which has a high possibility that he will be killed. In the poem, “The Song of Wandering Aengus”, Aengus goes on a crazy mission that might take his whole life to accomplish which is to find the “glimmering girl” because he is in love with that girl. Aengus wanted to find the “glimmering girl” that he in love with, while Rikki-tikki-tavi and Farah Ahmedi wanted
I have taken the same risks every other person has taken. I have driven a car, got on an airplane, crossed the street, trust people I barely know; all risks that we have taken daily. We put our hearts, lives, and safety at risk all the time. Getting into relationships, telling people secrets but, the risk I took was more of a moral and personal risk. The last three months I have decided to volunteer at the Orlando Veteran Affairs Medical Center.
For the first reason that people do not have the right to rescue services when they put themselves at risk is people may die. In source #3 “Ranger Killed During Rescue of Climbers on Mount Rainier” indicate that rescuer died when he try to save the climbers. As narrated above in the newspaper article, “As Hall… was preparing some of climber for helicopter evacuation… he fell down the mountain’s northeast side from the 13700- foot level… Climbers reached him hours later and confirmed he had died.” This represents it’s very dangerous to tried save people at 13700- foot level high, and the climbers are dangling inside crevasse. Moreover, it proof that rescuers must have to be skilled, otherwise he will lose his life easily. For those who disagree are
Beowulf set his ego aside and hurdled into the face of danger in order to defeat a greater evil and liberate the people of Heorot from the demonic grasp of Grendel. The crew aboard the Challenger brought America together and helped us insure the safety of future astronauts. Tom pushed his body to the edge to live the life he dreamed of. Risks are imperative in life. Even beginning life, they are our instinct. We learn to crawl despite the bruises on our knees. We learn to walk no matter how many falls we endure. As we become further aware of the world around us, somewhere along the way, we experience failure; at that point, many people attempt to eradicate most risks from their life. But where would we be without our sense of exploration, our willingness to try new things? In order to push one’s boundaries, move forward as a society, and give purpose to life people must be willing to take risks.
The second reason people have the right to rescue services when they put themselves at risk is mountain climbing is difficult
To start off, people who put themselves at risk also put others at risk, namely rescue services. In the radio interview, Nick Heil described a gruesome incident that occurred when rescuers attempted to save two climbers. He stated,”They crashed attempting to rescue the second man.” (Heil, lines 29-30) This quote describes that people taking risks endanger themselves as well as other people around them. This supports the claim that endangering yourself also endangers others because it describes the effects of what can potentially happen if something goes wrong. The Seattle Times news article states a ranger died while attempting to save climbers after getting stuck in a crevasse (Seattle Times, lines 1-3) This quote explains what happened when a climbing ranger was killed whilst trying to save climbers who took a risk and decided to go mountain climbing. It puts my claim that taking risks puts you and others in danger by putting into a real-life situation. Those who are pro-rescue services may claim that people in the rescue service industry sign up for potentially fatal risks. This may be true, but these fatal outcomes are the result of those who choose to take risks, therefore being the cause of rescuers’ imminent death.
My first reason I think that rescue services should not be allowed to people who put themselves at risk is that they might not only put themselves at risk but also the people who are trying to save them. It states in the article called “Ranger Killed During
There are many lengths in which people will go in order to survive. In my opinion, many
Can you save other people’s lives when you are in danger or close to death? I would say “No” most of the time because my life is the most important thing in the universe at least for me. This is a quite difficult and controversial question, but I assume that the majority of people would say no as well. I don’t understand why the climbers take risks that they can die.
Risk for most people is an accepted part of everyday life e.g. catching a bus or walking to the shop etc... will carry some element of risk. Risk is associated with our health, safety, security, well being, employment, education, daily activities, using resources and equipment and community participation. Some adults such as those who are disabled or who are older are usually discouraged from taking risks with their budgeting, planning, employment and their daily living skills usually because people fear for their limitations or that they might hurt themselves or others. Everyone has the right to take risks and make
With countless people dying, climbing, each year, should these people be saved, even if it means others might die? By helicopter, is the main method these climbers are saved. These rescues are escalating in number each year. Although this method is very expensive, it also very efficient. Less attentive to the dangers, some of the climbers do drastic things because they know that rescue services are just one phone call away. Then, there are climbers who make an endeavor to push that thought to the back of their mind. But some people debate whether it still does have an impact on their decisions. Even if they put others in danger, all of these climbers have the right to be saved because the rangers are capable of saving them and the services are skilled enough.
Why shouldn’t rescue services have the right to save people when they put themselves in danger? In the summer of 2012 a catastrophe and devastating event happened, ranger Nick Hall died. To start there are many limitations and qualifications to being a ranger, so we should warn people not to climb lethal mountains. So we don’t risk the lives of other people like rangers and rescuers. Also, it can be expensive at times, especially when they need money to build the helicopters and in Switzerland the need to bring in a technician when they use the safety net. 4,000 people have successfully climbed everest but over 230 people die on Mt. Everest scaling the drastic mountain or saving people who
To start off, people who climb places such as Mount Everest and Mount Rainier put more than themselves at risk. Many will argue that this is the reason rescue services exist. Although that is true, they were created for crisis situations. For example, in Source 3 a park ranger on Mount
To conclude, Source #1 states that, the advantages of the Swiss rescue technique are that rescuers will soon be able to literally be able to pluck a climber from a mountain if needed. In source #1 a climber states, “You might see as many as four to five helicopter flights in a given day on average.” There are not that many rules to be safe, just make sure that you follow the rules you are given following. Many people, including myself, believe that people who put themselves in danger should not be entitled to
