Have you ever attempted to eat cereal or soup without a spoon? It's difficult, isn't it? Archaeologists have found that spoons have existed at least as far back as Ancient Egypt. Over this time, a wide variety of spoons have been developed. While they are most commonly employed as tools for eating, they have many unconventional uses as well, some of which can cause problems. Regardless of how they're used, though, spoons are a key utensil. The types of spoons available are each suited to their respective purpose, just like with any other type of tool. Soup spoons are designed to transport soup from the bowl to the eater's mouth. Teaspoons are for stirring ea. Measuring spoons take the guesswork out of cooking. When the
By the end of the experiment, it was predicted that the egg would be swollen when left in water and shriveled when left in corn syrup. Based on the data given from the table above, the prediction is, more or less, right. The egg did, in fact, shrivel up and the weight of the egg did go down as well. Compared to the beginning of the experiment where the egg had an initial mass of 81.50 grams, but by the end of the water aspect of the research the egg ended up weighing 93.74 grams, therefore, there was an increase of 12.24 grams. Using the data table the weight from the start the syrup aspect of the experiment was 93.74 grams, after being left in syrup the egg weighed a total of 57.32 grams, thus, the egg decreased in weight by 36.42 grams.
Kids on my block always loved to play outside. Growing up we always knew each other. We cherished the times we would spend with each other. Whether it being on the Scorching hot days of Summer, the chilly days of Fall, Or the rainy days of Spring. We would be on that street hanging out and spend time with each other.
As the classroom visitor, Dooley can read a book to the class and the students can ask her any questions they have on her Everybody… books.
For this experiment, the clothespin was assigned. Before beginning the lab, predictions were made based on the tools that were provided. It was predicted that the chopsticks would be the least successful tool, due to its difficulty in using it, and the high probability that the food would easily slip from the chopsticks. On the other hand, the tweezers were predicted as the most successful tool, due to its ease of use, the pointed tip, and the surface area that made it

In the anonymously written article “Soup,” the writer illustrates how Albert Yeganeh, the owner and chef of a soup restaurant, dedicates his life to soup and runs his successful business in an unusual strict way. Through the writer’s observational representation of the restaurant and procedures of the restaurant mentioned in the article, the vision of Albert Yeganeh being a successful soup perfectionist with a strong and stern personality is shown clearly.

Soup and I'm Not Leaving Until I Eat This Thing are short stories written about hard working and dedicated men. They make a living in the food industry to the best of their ability. Mr. Yeganeh and Lionel Dufour put all of their efforts into their jobs. However, they live total opposite lifestyles, and are in two totally separate industries.
Am I the only one excited for halloween? I know we're more than a month away, but I've already started our hunt for our halloween costumes and our candy shopping for the neighborhood kids. While I'm not big on my own kids having lots of candy around halloween, I won't force my ideals on others. My kids know that the day after halloween the candy disappears. I'm big on eating healthy and I try to buy organic as much as I can. I started Madison out on veggies before she got her first bite of something sweet, like her first piece of fruit. She is still a big fan of broccoli and I try to incorporate it in her meal as much as I can. Today I want to share with you our Spooky Green Eyeball Soup. Not only is it a healthy and delicious meal for your
The poor man often went about with his spoon in his hat or his pocket, and his knife on his belt. Common folks did not eat with forks” (Nelson
This was a great article to read. It made me want to get and find his restaurant and just one of the soup that he makes. Some of the idea that I received thru out this reading is that I really need to make sure that my food is clean. The reason for that is so that I can have some of the best tasting food that I can make. One thing that was very interesting is how he would go to other restaurants and say that he couldn’t eat the soup. One of the reason were that he could see the chemicals in the soup, this made me stop and think can I see the same thing in my food. I really had no ideas what this article was about or what I was going to be reading. It was a great read about
When observing people in their physical form, you can instantaneously characterize them. Generally, people are made of the same components, such as blood, a brain, a stomach, and limbs. The most important aspects of people are within themselves, things that separate them from other people beyond visual identities. Our bodies and brains are all one big melting pot, constantly being stirred with thousands of different ingredients. What ingredients or your inner self set you apart from everyone else?
Mrs. Hawkins’ beady eyes glared down at me as I sat down in front of her. My mother offered a short greeting before the Parent-Teacher conference that I had been dreading all week started. “Allison is very behind in class.” Mrs. Hawkins’ voice rang out. “When I ask her to read out loud in class, she refuses. Whenever she gets short stories or extended responses as homework, she writes her answers backwards. I honestly believe she thinks it’s funny.” Mrs. Hawkins bony fingers took out a paper from a vanilla folder with my name on it. “See. It’s completely written backwards.” She handed the paper to my mother. I looked over at the paper, the messiness of my handwriting, the letters were backwards.
Using the words, phrases and sentences surrounding an unfamiliar word can help us learn the meaning of a new word. For example, I didn’t know what a paraffin lamp was but, I know that a lantern makes light and it was being put out in the story so, I thought it must be some kind of fuel. I looked it up and found out it was a type of wax. Other words and phrases I didn’t know but used clues to learn were circuit breaker and resonates. As you know, words have connotations and in this story there were many with a positive one. One example is, the line that says, “The incredible tale was the kind of positive story Mealer…” This line makes readers think of an awe-inspiring, happy story that people wanted to hear about. Other lines with positive
I listen to a great deal of leadership material while in my truck. Just to give you perspective, I drive about a thousand miles a week for work. This audio of Andy Stanley is at the top of the list. It is interesting that this will be our writing topic for the week, because as I listened my thoughts were on the problem. As the presentation of Andy, I asked myself this question, “what bowl of stew will it take for me to hire the guy that has what appears to be shady (tapping his life shadows) ethics as it relates to sharing proprietary information? Will my shadow for advancement be over whelming to the point I will have a lapse in my judgment or in my character and hire this guy for my personal gain? Does the most powerful person in the room come into play as it relates to this hire? If yes, how will I give this power to others to make a team decision instead of a personal decision? I ponder these things as I listen to the audio and relate them to our “problem.”
