Why Do We Rebelled?

We've all thought about rebelling or disobeying at least once throughout our lives. It's just how we as humans work. If we see something we don't believe in; we will stand up for it. Irish Oscar Wilde had said the reason we've made progress was and is because we have rebelled. I agree with his statement, because if not for rebellion or disobedience, the United States of America would’ve never became a nation. People wouldn’t be free of past government laws. Women wouldn't have the rights they have today without some sort of action. Although we have the right of free speech today, before it wasn’t considered a right of the people. It was an act of rebellion against the government.

As humans, we have free will. We can choose what is right and take action; this, in turn, has led to disobedience, since people occasionally overruled the government, which hasn't always been right. Similarly, the LGBTQ community and women's rights would be little to nothing if we had not disobeyed. There are many activists in our society that believe there needs to be a political or social change. Activists disobey the government. Therefore, they choose to break the laws in order to fight for what they believe in. Wilde has proven to be correct when he says that it disobedience is how we get social advancement. All of Irish Oscar Wilde’s claims on rebellion and disobedience are correct, in my opinion, because without disobedience and rebellion we would not be where we are today. Women would have no rights and there would still be slaves in the United States today. We fought many wars, and we faced thousands of conflicts against other nations to become the United States that we are now. Because of this, we, as United States citizens, we have the benefit of free will and the choice to follow what we believe is
