It was summer of 1993. I was looking for a summer job, so I was idly flipping through the newspaper looking for job advertisements. There was the usual; plumber, electrician, bag boy at a local grocery store. But there was one that caught my attention. It was for a night guard position at a pizzeria that I had never heard of before, in the next county over, which would have been about a 25 minute drive. The advertisement was as follows, “Help Wanted. Night Guard position has recently been vacated and looking for a capable replacement. $100.50 a week. Not responsible for harm to personal property.” That last bit really intrigued me, but I figured it was referencing the fact that a robbery was a possibility and that the pizzeria did not want to be held responsible. I decided to apply for the job that same day. As I drove to the pizzeria, known as Freddy’s, I pondered the upcoming interview and the job requirements if I was accepted. It seemed like a pretty good deal, just sit in a chair most of the night, maybe walk around the place to check for intruders, not much to it. Those were the thoughts running through my mind as I pulled into the parking lot. I parked and hurried out of my car and across the lot. There were quite a few other cars parked, and I could hear music and kids squealing from inside the building. I opened the door and took it all in. There were quite a few tables filled with happy looking kids and their parents, and there were presents stacked
The reasons I have decided to go back to school is because I want to further my education to better myself as a single mother, and I want to show my children that you should never give up on your goals no matter how challenging life can be. Also, I chose to go back to school so that I can boost my son's confidence level so when he does homework, I will be right by his side doing mines whether its researching, reading, or typing papers. My ultimate goal for using this degree is to receive additional pay through my employer once I have obtained my degree. Secondly, I want to expand my career in law
When I grow up I wanna work at mcdonalds and make happy meals for little kids. I wanna work at mcdonalds Because i will get free double cheese burgers and smell great fake meat all day. I'm am so excited to work at mcdonalds because they pay good and make good food.
I pushed my bangs back from my face as I tapped lightly on the back door of my new job, Egg & I. I had been a server before at Cracker Barrel, which was twice the size of this new job and open much later as well, so I wasn’t worried about my last day of training before I was put on the floor by myself. One of the cooks opened the door for me and I muttered a shy ‘thank you’ before walking toward the computer to sign in. I slowed down as my eyes landed on the herd of servers huddled around my boyfriend of five years, DJ. He had gotten a job at Egg & I two weeks before me and, after telling me at length how much better this job would be than Cracker Barrel, I applied and immediately got the job.
Aunt Paisley, Uncle Kaden, London, Raelyn, and Uriah all entered the restaurant. I was behind them hesitating. No pizzerias are better than in NYC. I thought. I went in and saw cute tables with red and white cloths over them. The place smelt amazing. A waitress brings out a tray of pizza and sodas. I took a bite of the pizza. Instead of the pizza being gross, it was really good! This place might not be that bad as I
The faded walls of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, which once held vibrant colors and smiling faces, now were cold and deceased from any contact. I traced my hand over the cartoon drawn figures of Bonnie, Chica, and Freddy. They seem so happy...
They imeadutly started laughing and Autumn ducked down and popped back up like a childs toy. I noticed then that one of the other managers Juli had walked in. She seemed to laugh and walked over to Sarah who was helping a customer. The customers seemed tense and had his hands on his hips, he was a white male in his mid 40`s. Juli talked to him and he seemed to relax as he spoke to her. She laughed and motioned for him to follow her to concession and took care of his order herself. Once this was done, he smiled, waved and proceeded down the hallway. Juli, left concession the concession area at this
I chose to come back to school just to get more education under my belt. I'm a homeschool graduate who currently works for Louisiana roofing and P&A handyman services. I like to stay busy so adding school to my schedule will keep me happy. I'm a pretty short and blunt to the point guy so I know what i want and i get it so, that is the reasons I chose to come back to get more education. Plus it will help with my line of work. I worked with the flood recovery down here in Louisiana and i helped remodel houses after the flood. I have also been on mission trips multiple times to Guatemala helped with the kids and helped on dorm construction and construction on a church there. I played baseball in high school so that really taught me a good work
It was the twelfth of September, the leaves were quietly falling off the trees, and the sky was a gloomy shade of gray. Although I was doing the dishes, on my mother's order, I was secretly attempting to get her to sit down, relax, and let me ask her a few questions. My mother is a very busy woman, she does all kinds of things to make the world a better place, for her loving family, and even for the people she doesn’t know. All she could suspect then, is that I mysteriously listened to her directions without arguing. After finishing the dishes, I rushed towards her before she could start something else, I asked her if she could allow me to interview her. Without hesitation, she replied,” Sure, of course you can interview
People always ask me “Why do you have a job if your parents get you anything you want?” That however is not the whole truth. Something that sets me apart from other people is that I managed to get a job at such a young age. On November 9, 2014 I was hired at Target. I had just turned sixteen at the time and a year later I have managed to stay and learn a lot throughout my experience of being there. My first year was difficult because I had to remember how to do everything correctly but as months passed, I learned the routine and even remember orders of regular customers. I still make minor mistakes, but i think it is acceptable because you learn from your mistakes. Being one of the youngest workers at my job is an advantage because my co workers help me with things I do not really know how to do well and give me advice as well.
I was very confused and wasn't sure if I wanted to go. As the time passed by during 4th block, I look at my phone and notice it is 2:21 in the afternoon. I have about 3 hours left to determine if I really wanted to go. School ends and I go home and it is 4:23 p.m., I decide to go. I got ready and by the time I was heading off, it was 5:30 p.m., and my stomach started to turn. I didn't know what was coming and what to expect. It all changed once the waiter came and gave me exactly what I order when I come here every Saturday. A cinnamon roll with an espresso. I was about to pay him the
When I was in the sixth grade, I disgraced my family. Every summer break I would go to my cousin Tobi’s house on Burke Avenue with a few of my older cousins, but could only go after my mother approved of my final report card. She drove up to my junior-high school, a joint elementary and junior high-school I had attended since kindergarten, and asked for my report card of which I was reluctant to show because it came with a letter stating that the school strongly suggest I go to summer school.
Summer jobs are a major part of everyone’s teenage years. Whether it be paying for college or earning extra money, these jobs are important because they instill responsibility. My reason was to save for my school’s spring break trip to Australia and New Zealand in 2018. Like many other teenagers, I buckled down, wrote my résumé, and distributed it widely. One business I stumbled upon was Pinks and Purples. Within an hour of finding the job listing, I set up my interview and landed the job. Pinks and Purples was a good summer job, or so I thought.
I had butterflies in my stomach as we pulled into the empty grey parking lot of Best Buy. It was as frigid as an ice cream freezer so, we shuffled swiftly into the store. As we approached the doors there were workers welcoming us like gentle giants. The yellow illuminated sign reflected off glasses as we walked through the automatic sliding doors opened.
Today is Ronny's first day at Italiono’s Pizza And Sub’s. Its Saturday… busiest day of the week. “How hard can it be?” he thought to himself. Ronny is given the uniform, a red and black, polyester shirt. He pinned on his new name tag with Italiono’s Pizza And Sub’s written in black letters. His delivery bike is parked outside. Pizza rack installed. As he starts his shift he already has five orders!
My first job was as an independent server in a nursing home dining room. I was 17 years old at the time; when I was hired to work part-time. Before, I never worked except when I helped my mom around the house! I would always ask for money from my parents, but I knew I was old enough and ready to start a job. I also wanted to help bring in a little money to my house to help my parents. The legal age of a teen to start working is at least 16, but it’s hard to find a job without experience, nowadays! In addition, to wanting to make my own money; I wanted to rely less on my parents. The morning I applied at Aberdeen was the beginning of something new!
