I am an individual who truly loves the feeling of being useful and helping out. That is why I love to volunteer for task in which I need to do something, such as running back and forth to help a team out, or answering any questions a person may have. My passion is something that drives me to do my best and knowing that my work will have a positive benefit in another person's life makes it all the more important for me to be available and excited for this wonderful opportunity that is being provided.
I hope to be a positive resource for teams and to help supply them with whatever they might need and want to help behind the scenes to make sure that the event goes on without a hitch. I know that large events like the Championship take a lot of
I believe in contributing to the community. I am a member of the National Honor Society and we do volunteer work for the school and through the community. It seems every other week there is an opportunity to volunteer in which I am eager to take part. In addition, as a Third Party Representative for a civics class called Project 18, I spend at least two hours a week emailing and calling potential guest speakers and creating PowerPoint slideshows that I will present. .
I like to help people who need it, or even just doing something nice for them makes me feel happy and content. In school I have helped my friends many times and have helped my teachers too. At home I help my parents with anything that they need help with. In sixth grade I completed my five or more hours of service by serving as a safety patrol. It was my duty to keep children safe while boarding the bus, riding the bus, departing the bus, and in the event of an emergency. I had to maintain order at all times and had to always be extremely vigilant of any unwanted or unsafe behavior. During that year I also served as a kindergarten patrol for a few months, making sure that they knew where they were going and were safe, and as a stairwell patrol, regulating movement on the
Volunteering to me didn’t seem very pleasing at first. My focus was simply getting the hours I needed to make my resume look good. However, my perspective changed when I began getting involved with the various activities of the community. I enjoyed helping and serving others, seeing the positive impact I made gave me a great satisfaction. Thankfully, I have volunteered in many areas, however there are a few organizations in which I have invested more time and effort.
Moreover, I often volunteer to do service in my community. I have been doing volunteer work for Walk for Hunger since from 2011. Also I participate many times in school food bank, which school donates food to families who need help. It was a wonderful experience because I was able to help out my community in a positive way. I like to be there for people who are in need because it shows people that I am a caring and loving them.
Volunteering and participating in service projects are two of the most rewarding activities in my opinion. Some people may find it was a hassle or only do it because they have to meet the minimum requirement for school or work. Helping others, for me, has always been somewhat second nature to me. Over many years of volunteering I believe I have developed qualities that will stick with me for life and benefit me in my career. As early as freshman year, in high school, I found myself looking for ways to give back. I started by looking for opportunities within school, where I came across the A+ tutoring program, and so my journey of giving back began. While tutoring, my patience for others really evolved, partly by choice and partly because
Helping those in need is also a big part of my life. I like to volunteer my time to help those in need who I may not necessarily know. I may not know how exactly my volunteering helps them but I know that my work has made an impact on their life. I think it is important to help those in need even if you do not know them. I being helping and giving back to the community has helped me become more understanding and selfless.
I enjoy helping people who need a helping hand and is the reason why I volunteer in the nursing home facility, where I help the elderly who struggle with daily tasks like: walking and
“Many people feel a sense of self in doing something for others: friendship, support, bonding and a feeling of belonging are why some people volunteer. I also felt this feeling of belonging when would participate in the Saint Jude Bike-a-thon. Most of my friends and classmates would be there pushing along with me. Volunteering events also provide a great opportunity to meet new people and develop new meaningful relationships with them. The shared experience is usually what bonds people
I like to work with people and help others. That is one reason why I joined Interact and want to be a part of the National Honor Society. It also one of the reasons why I want to work in the medical field--to help others. I have done service projects with St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Interact. With my church I have helped out the bazaars, fish frys, garden clean up, decorating the church, tailgate parties, and many other things.
Giving back to the community has always been one of my favorite activities. Seeing a smile on those people that are in need of help is a life changing experience. What could be a little act of kindness to us could make their entire day. Helping others is one of the reasons why I want to join the honors program.
I volunteer for the reason that I love helping the community and getting the experiences from volunteering. The experiences I get is my ability to help my people skills, I love learning new things every day, and it helps me prepare
Before beginning my volunteer work I faced quite a dilema. Where could I influence children, help them develop their leadership potential, educate them about agriculture, and have fun-all at the same time?
Being able to jump into action to help another without hesitation and remain calm in a stressful situation are strong life skills and what I believe makes a good volunteer. Volunteer by definition is “a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task.” I really enjoy spending my free time volunteering on the Valley United Way Youth Leadership Program. It is through volunteering and giving back to the community which has helped to shape my perspective of what is most important in life … helping others. At the same time, I believe my efforts have made a positive impact and I’ve had a chance to grow individually and bond with likeminded
Understanding these reasons for volunteering, is important and could give us concrete answers as to why people would participate in long-term volunteering. The issue of sufficient support networks for people in need is very important. It has a very crucial role to play in the well-being of people. We all need support when we are going through difficult times and knowing that there is someone there for you, someone who cares, can make all the difference in the world.
When I am at best, I help people. I motivate myself and feel motivated when I get to help others. Whether it’s a stranger, colleague, friends, or family, I feel my passion in assisting those in need. As long as it’s within my capability and moral belief that what people ask for help is ethical and legal, I give them my attention and time. I feel happy that I am able to give a hand, and I feel happy to see people become happy with the help I give them. Helping others put smiles on my face and also on them as well. I feel proud of myself that I have the power to help the
