Why I Want To Be A Lv

Soon after, I received my licensure and began working at The Queen's Medical Center as a Registered Nurse (RN) in early part of 1994. Since becoming a RN, I have provided care to a great deal of patients and reassured countless numbers of family members. As a RN, I've also become the coordinator of care, patient advocate, and teacher to the patients I cared for while serving as the eyes and the ears of the physicians. As with any human, I enjoyed sharing the laughter with my patient and cringed at site of their pain and despair. For these reasons, I believe that being a RN is a great career choice for me. However, for these same reasons, I still feel that I am not a complete nurse; hence I've decided to go back to school and try to earn my Bachelor in Science Degree in Nursing

The reason that I choose the medical field is because since I was a child, I've always helped my mom who suffered from MS. Her condition made her suffer from not being able to a lot of things on her own such as, cooking cleaning and bathing herself. My mom had multiple strokes in her lifetime that would cause her not being able to take care of herself. I would definitely say that you will have to be a strong person to help take care of those in need. It has prepared me for all the ups and downs which An RN will have to endure in their career such as learning how to handle people who cannot care for their self's. it made it easier for me to choose what I wanted to do in life. I have worked in every area of the hospital and nursing homes in my nineteen years of clinical practice as a nurse. I have excelled and enjoyed the care that I have provided over the years. I have been a charge nurse wherever I have worked and enjoyed brainstorming and critically thinking through what needed to be done for a patient when they were not doing well. I have prevented many code blues and have been a preceptor to many excellent nurses.

I have always wanted to become a nurse, I find it interesting and I love helping people. Trying to put others before me. Though with some research, with the help of the California Career Zone Registered Nurses, it showed me the information on becoming a nurse practitioner, I could still work in pediatric care, as well as handle higher tasks. Such as studying patient history, diagnose and treat them, order and perform certain tests. Whereas a registered nurse just monitors, as well as administer medications. (California Career Zone). It is a very social working job, making sure patients understand their illness and treatments, bedside care is very important in this job. I made the decision to join the health care field based on my own desire, love of the people that live and thrive around me, and to be a role model for my daughter. I feel it is important to have a goal in life, and it is important to me to show my daughter the value of goals, and achieving them as well. I love meeting new people, and being able to lend a helping hand in any way I possibly can. What better way to help the general population then to have a profession in the health care industry.

Being in the Law & Criminal Justice Academy (LCJA) really showed me what I wanted to do as a career and as a passion. In the LCJA, I learned about how to apply legal terms, practices and the law to current situations. I went into Mock Trial during my Junior year of high school to earn a credit to graduate and found a place to belong and passion.

I chose to be a LMT because I enjoy helping people. As a LMT I am able to easily bring down the clients stress level. It is so gratifying for me to see the change in demeanor that I helped create within the client. When the session is complete, I get a feeling of pride when educating the client on home body care.

There are several reasons why I want to be an LPN. The desire to help people was always being there for me. I come from a family of teachers,so I grew up surrounded by people helping others to learn and Achieve goals in life.

I believe that through medicine I would be able to put other people’s needs before my own, and continue caring and making a difference in people’s lives. As a newly certified nurse aide (CNA), I have been able to begin this journey. As a CNA, I get to leave work knowing that I directly made an impact on someone else’s life. Not only has becoming a CNA changed my patient’s lives but it has also changed mine for the better. They give me the opportunity to constantly challenge myself, build relationships with them, and develop new skills. In the time that I have been a CNA I have had the opportunity to develop many different qualities including: adaptability, compassion, emotional stability, patience, and problem-solving skills. Being in the medical field is something my family has been in for a few generations now. My grandmother once worked in a nursing home, and my aunts were both nursing assistants. My mother has been in the medical field since she was sixteen, starting in a nursing home, and then becoming a nursing assistant until 2007. Shortly afterwards, she became a medical assistant that she currently still is today. It can only but inspire me to be working in the medical field next. I wanted to be a neurologist first, then a psychologist, but with the amount of schooling and how much debt I’d be in, I thought it through and figured out I want to be a nurse practitioner. They have similar duties to a registered nurse except they give advanced services to patients, and it can be cheaper going to medical school as well as having to go for a shorter amount of time than a regular doctor as well as great benefits and salary.

It’s truly a blessing to be a part of such a great profession. Where you are lifted up by your fellow nurses during times of happiness and distress. Working as a licensed practical nurse has allowed me the opportunity to impact patients’ lives in positive ways. When people enter my health care facility for care, they have certain expectations, they are not always at their best and need the best level of care to help them achieve their prior level of function. After nine and a half years of working as a licensed practical nurse, I decided that it was time to pursue a RN degree. Although, I have enjoyed my career as a LPN I understand that the scope of it is not as wide as that of an RN. My passion for working in health care stems from my desire for trying to create a positive impact and difference in someone’s life. Who does this more in the health field than nurses? I have had the opportunity to work as an EMT, a Personal Care Assistant, and as a Nurse Assistant. In these roles, I would always witness nurses leading and being the first to create a relationship with a patient. In fact, there are several reasons why I chose nursing as my profession. First and foremost is that I want to focus on changing people’s lives (Nurse Journal, 2016). As a nurse, I would study the life's value when I would be seeing individuals struggling to remain alive.
