My name is Latifah Syeh and it is my aspiration to become a member of the alpha chi chapter of alpha kappa alpha sorority, inc. In my eyes, the purpose of alpha kappa alpha is to promote social change, equality, and personal growth through scholarship and leadership. These are all things that I want my legacy to be defined by. I am aspiring to join this sorority specifically because I want to walk in the path of those that I admire. I admire alpha women. You all are beneficent, sophisticated, and empowering. I want that for myself.
I received a full scholarship to attend Appalachian State University when I was just in the third grade and I went on to graduate 4th in my high school class despite being documented as a McKenny-Vento youth. I am a Junior Pharmaceutical Sciences major. Upon graduation, I plan to join the peace corps. I have intermediate knowledge of the Spanish language and it is my goal to spend a few years in a Spanish speaking country so that I can become fluent. Once I become fluent, I plan to attend medical school with a specialty in psychiatry.

I am grateful because that lead me to North Carolina Central University. From my time here, I have grown immensely. Being a student at NCCU is the best thing that ever happened to me. I enjoy debating, fine dining, and shopping. One of the greatest experiences I had at NCCU is an etiquette class. If I had no responsibilities for 48 hours, I would likely spend it decorating and shopping for decorations. I am always looking for ways to improve things. My motto is that “I am going to become the woman of my dreams”. The woman of my dreams is how I imagined myself as a child. She was hard-working, dedicated, sophisticated, classy, and elegant. Each day I work on molding myself into that idea and I believe that becoming a member of alpha kappa alpha can assist me in my
As a young woman who strives to make a difference both locally and globally, I know that membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will aid in accomplishing my life long goals. The emphasis this organization places on assisting and supporting others through the Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, is truly a reflection of the public service initiatives that I make an effort to take part in. The opportunity to form a lifelong bond with other college educated women, who share some of the same morals and beliefs as I do, is phenomenal. I know that membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will mean taking that initiative to become a part of something that’s bigger than myself, because I certainly can’t take on the world alone. The incredible
From a time when achievement was rare, and succeeding among minority was minuscule, a sense of order was needed. During this time Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated came into the world, bringing core values and achievement. Within the five objectives Kappa Alpha Psi showcases the distinction of itself from other fraternities. The founding fathers had the desire to shape a unique group personality different from the other greek letter college organizations, around the idea of achievement. When achievement was mainly concerned with improvement of personal status, security, and meeting the demands of everyday living the founders of the fraternity envisioned something bigger. Thus bringing about the Five Objectives that men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated live by and exemplify on a day to day basis showcasing Achievement in every field of human endeavor.
The objectives of Alpha Phi Alpha are to stimulate the ambition of its members, to prepare them for the greatest usefulness in the cause of Humanity, Freedom, and Dignity of the individual; to encourage the highest and noblest form or manhood and to aid downtrodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher social, economic, and intellectual status.
Alpha Kappa Alphas represent service and culture more than anything. Ever since AKA was founded in 1908, their motto has been “By Culture and By Merit”, and the mission of the sorority goes along with their motto. UNC Charlotte has made a significant impact on my undergraduate career because this campus has an abundance of resources, a helpful staff, a diverse atmosphere, and plenty of opportunities for campus involvement. This university has a variety of staff, all of which have been helpful in my college experience. They are excellent about working with students so they can gain the most out of their educational experience. For example, when I have sought out more information on which portion of Spain to go to, so that I may improve my Spanish fluency, my professor was extremely helpful. She sat down with me and explained about what it is like living in Spain, tips for where to go, and what to expect from the different regions. This valuable information

Dear to whom it may concern, I would love to be in Honors English 2 (10th) and Honors World History (10th) as they are my two favorite subjects and I am the most passionate about them. I am currently in Humanities Academy as a freshman and my goal is to keep up the challenging classes because not only do I love to be challenged, but these subjects make me excited to learn. School comes very easy to me and I love to learn so much, so I know I can handle the tasks thrown my way during these courses. My personal goals I wish to achieve are to keep improving my strengths and making sure I am learning to my fullest abilities. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always said I want to be a famous author when I grow up. Now as I am getting older,
Day in and day out we hear about high school and college students wanting to pursue a sorority and/or a fraternity based on the stereotypes these organizations uphold, well I chose to differ. I told myself if I ever decided to become a member of a sorority it would be based solely on their ethical standards, history, and values they are founded upon. Alpha Kappa Alpha, Incorporated consists of ladies of distinction and exemplary character who excel in scholarship, leadership, and service, which are qualities I have chosen to uphold. From my perspective, I encourage myself to maintain a respectable appearance and reputation which doing so inspires me to embrace my self-concept; which helps me confidently excel academically and
Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated purpose is to be of service to all mankind dealing with critical issues in communities domestically and internationally. What I have grown to understand an envision a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated to be, I accredit largely to the ladies of the Gamma Theta chapter. This has the result of attending many of the chapter’s events during my time at Hampton thus far. One of my favorite events was a screening of a documentary Girls Rising. I learned to appreciate every opportunity to learn and gain knowledge because in some parts of the world girls are restricted from receiving an education. A
The three main reasons I am excited to join a sorority include my personal development, loyalty and friendship, and support of my aspirations. As a sister, there is an expectation of social interaction and personal development. I am confident that my experience and communication skills will be enriched by the activities that I participate in, the responsibility I take, and the people I meet. I am looking forward to making friends for life. I think that the atmosphere and set up of a sorority fosters and encourages the development of lifelong friendships through common aims and shared experiences. I also believe that sorority life emphasizes and encourages loyalty to and among the sisterhood, my school and the nation. Support from my sisters
Members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated have made everlasting effects on my life. Having mentors in this fraternity allowed me to see how every member feels responsible for improving the communities that they are from. They never hesitate to take the leadership roles that are needed to see change. I would like to become a member of Alpha Phi Alpha because it would allow us to share a brotherhood with great men, it will allow me to make valuable connections with other positive men around the world, and it will help me become the best version of myself. My desire to become a member of this fraternity began my freshmen year after I attended the first informational meeting. At this meeting I was able to speak with members and also learn from them. They each have strong leadership characteristics that allow them to serve on executive boards across campus and they all are high achieving students at Cornell.
While conducting research on the partnered sororities of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, I discovered particularly fascinating attributes associated with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. What fascinated me the most was the sorority’s distinct dedication to education, sisterhood, mentorship, and international service. I desire membership of the first organization people look to for help; that is Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. This sorority has made its way relevant from 1908 to modern day and progressively moving forward. I want to be able to say the same thing about myself.
The question was asked, why do I want to be a member of Alpha Phi Alpha? Before answering the question, I would like to talk about myself as this will provide a greater context to my response.
