Why I Want To Go To College Essay

There are multiple reasons why someone may want to go to college. Whether it’s to pursue their dreams or prove people wrong. I want to go to college because I want to pursue my dream of majoring in mathematics, math is a passion of mine. I can not say fully what I want to do with my life or when I will find out, but I do know that math is something I want to continue studying. Being Hispanic does not give me a good advantage when it comes to colleges, I have to make sure my voice is heard. What is even more complicated is being a first generation college student, my family really can not help because my parents did not go to college. I have to set the example for my younger brother because he is also going to be a first generation college student

College comes at you quicker than you could imagine. And with being a junior in high school, college is all you think of. Sometimes the more you think about what you want to do the more stressful it can get. But you have to keep an idea of what career you'll want to pursue. East Tennessee State, Coastal Carolina, and the University of South Carolina offer many programs that would lead you to want to attend their university.

As far as goals, I intend on graduating from college and fulfill my aspiration of having a professional career. Growing up, my father has always worked minimum paying jobs and living for paycheck to paycheck, while my mother has always been a housewife. Whenever it came to school, my parents encouraged me to do my best in my studies.

I want to be a inspiration for the next generation and show that even growing up in tough circumstances, with hard work you can achieve your goals despite your past. My goals are to become a dentist, a role model to students of color, and to stop the cycle of poverty that challenges so many students like me seeking higher education. I am determined to continue to demonstrate leadership to show that through education we can achieve a better life and give back. I have been in the dental field as a dental assistant for over 7 years. My dream is to go from sitting in that dental assisting chair to the doctor provider chair.

Overall, I just want to be contented with my life in the future and not realize that I am miserable and that I have wasted my life. In the near future, I also aspire to do well in all four years of high school. This also applies to college. Another goal for the future that I have is to get a scholarship for college because of the fact that I want to go to college, but I don't want to drown in college debt.

Dreams! We all have dreams. Desires! We all have desires. Deep down, we have our truest, most personal ambitions we want to achieve.

My goals include finishing high school, then moving on to college. After completing college with a high GPA I plan to teach for two years and take master classes in order to receive my counseling degree and furthermore impact others’ lives around me. After completing these dreams I hope to settle down and begin a family of my own. I think that all of our decisions we make now will affect us in the future and that is another reason why I have to goal I do. I want to be a wonderful example to my children. I want them to see that education is valuable and if I can do it then they can to. I want them to succeed in every way possible and if I demonstrate determination now then it will transfer on to their lives and maybe you never know they will be the next Thomas Jefferson or Susan B. Anthony. My goal for higher education is tremendous. Not only will a higher education be an example to my children. It will allow me to continue learning throughout my whole life.
