A Teenager King
There are many great kings in the world, but if people in his kingdom compared him to god, we can assume that Alexander is the best and the greatest. Meanwhile Alexander was young; he challenged many things that prepared him to be a real man. When his father Philip II, King of Macedonia, and Olympias, the princess of neighboring Epirus died, he governed the kingdoms that were in his father’s facility, and he made many worthy things for his nation. Alexander the Great attacked many zones in the world, and he reached the victory in nearly all battles he leaded. Alexander is one of the most well-known and appreciated people over the centuries, he has an astonishing character, rich personal information full with great things and he completed many things after the death of his father.

When Alexander was young he controlled a wild and hard to be tamed horse in front of people’s eyes in the state. Alexander had the decent abilities, but he had some decline in few of them. Alexander the Great was a much respected man in his kingdom, and everyone was talking about his courage. In addition, Alexander had only thought about the battles. People in his kingdom adored and valued him as their god because of his countless and enormous successes. In Greece, Alexander was equaled to God. Also, Alexander usually drinks a lot. However Alexander wrestled in a lot of combats marked that he is looking for peace and gladness. In addition, he was a peace lover, but he wanted to grow his empire. Alexander the Great wanted peace and power in the same time. By this mix in Alexander's character that produced a very multipart personality. Alexander the Great is the most famous conqueror in the history of the world. His legacy and conquest has shaped the world we know today. Many leaders after him have looked to him as an example of what a good leader should be. “Alexander the Great’s tomb was one of the biggest tourist attractions of the ancient world. Roman emperors, including Pompey, Julius Caesar, and Caligula traveled to Alexandria to pay their respects.” It all started at the age of 18 when Alexander took charge of the Companion Cavalry and helped his father in defeating the Athenian and Theban armies. Starting from such a young age Alexander has been already shaping the empire he would create. At the age of twenty he became king, then by the age of twenty-six he conquered the Persian Empire and at age thirty explored the Indian frontier. He was an unstoppable force conquering the world. Alexander the Great is the greatest conqueror of the known world, because of the personal teachings of Aristotle of Stagira, his innovated military genius and multicultural integration methods.
Alexander should deserve his title as “Great” because he was a strategical and intelligent leader supported by the many battles he has won. The famous philosopher Aristotle taught Alexander which would support how Alexander was so intelligent; he was taught by one of the most intelligent people at that time in history. Alexander was merely 14 when he began to fight in his father’s army, 18 when he was general, and 20 when he became king. (Doc. 1) He had about six years of learning strategies and military tactics from his father, who took over Greece. In battles, he was heavily outnumbered but managed to still win each one. (Doc. 1) Each battle he won slowly expanded his empire until it reached from Greece to India (Doc. 3) In battles, Alexander led from the front of his army, inspiring his men to fight and to not be afraid. In the Ancient World, Alexander III is viewed as a great leader.As a boy, Alexander’s dad, King Philip III, was the king of Macedonia from 323 BC till 317 BC. While King Philip III was ruling Macedonia, Alexander was taught by philosophers ,such as Aristotle, and trained to become a vigorous leader. In history Alexander the Great is always one of the topics to learn, and one of the most asked question is what did Alexander do to be so great. Alexander might have been born great to achieve greatness or have greatness thrust upon him and this one of the reasons we still talk about him today. Alexander the Great took the crown at the age of 20. When he was only 13 Alexander tamed a horse that no one else could ride that was named Bucephalus which impressed his father. At the age of 16 he was a horseman and went to war, riding his horse that no one was able to ride on. Alexander the Great was born in Pella (capital of Macedonia) on July 20, 356 B.C and died from a fever in Babylon on June 323 B.C. After the assassination of Philip II in 336 B.C his son Alexander inherited one of the most powerful armies in the world and started an invasion attack in Persia. Alexander defeated his rival King Darius of Persia during the Battle of Issus in 333 B.C completing his father's dream and becoming a great leader. Through his schooling with his tutor Aristotle, Aristotle philosophy helped him achieve invading attacks his father couldn’t accomplish and giving him a chance to “admire and maintain these disparate cultures” (Jarus). Alexander the Great had an amazing political and military mind. With the tutelage of his father, Philip II, and a great education, he became one of the best leaders of all time. And even as a boy, many knew Alexander’s destiny was to rule.
Alexander the Great, he is one the most glorified and historically significant leaders within history. Unique, the one word that could be used to describe the details and importance of his life. Unlike his predecessors that came before him, what sets him apart has to be how he rose to power and how he used that power. And even though he only lived until the age of 33, he accomplished what those that came before him failed to do so. For centuries, Alexander the Great has held an eminent place in history. Arguably one of the greatest men the world has ever known, the Macedonian King accomplished many great feats in his short, but glorious life. During his reign, Alexander played several roles in the process of conquering the Persian empire, and in the assessment of his character, aspects of Alexander's capabilities of both strengths and weaknesses must be explored in him as a person, a statesman and a leader.
Who was Alexander the Great? Was he really great? Alexander was he king of the massive empire of Greece. He was the king of Macedonia and was 20 when he got his fathers empire. He expanded his empire from Egypt to India. Sadly died about 10 years after he got the empire. Alexander was great for these reasons, his remarkable achievements, his selflessness, and Tenacious.
Alexander was an outstanding ruler of Greece in his short amount of years that he ruled. “Alexander became king when he was only 20 years old and after his father Philip was assassinated in 336 B.C.E.” (BGE). Alexander was Creative, also how he made some remarkable achievements and how he had concern for others. Was Alexander Great or Not Great? Three reasons that show that are his empire was at it’s greatest was 2,000,000 sq. miles, the way he puzzled his enemies at war and how he adapted many other cultures to his empire.
Alexander cared about his army and there needs. According to document D, “The army was crossing a desert of sand and the sun was already blazing down on them. They were in need of water. As they went on a party of light infantry which had gone looking for water. They found some and poured it into a helmet. They brought it back to Alexander, Alexander took the helmet and in full view of his troops poured it on the ground,”(Arrianus Doc D). This shows that Alexander the great was truly great because he showed concern for others. When he poured the water on the ground he showed brotherhood. Brotherhood meaning if he was not going to drink the water the army would not either. This trait is good to have so that one can be caring for others and it makes one a good leader so they will be able to succeed in life. Next, Alexander was aware of others. According to document C, “When the last organized resistance was broken, Alexander and his army went on a wild search. Alexander had ordered that all except those who took safety in the temple were to be put to death,”(Green Doc C). This shows that Alexander the great was really great because he showed concern for others by honoring those who took safety in the temple he saved their lives. When one does this they are saving many lives and am being very honorable just like Alexander was. Alexander III of Macedon, more commonly known as Alexander the Great, is one of the most legendary figures in our history and in the history of the world. His conquests and endeavors echoed far and wide, bringing about new eras and ideas to the world. Alexander earned his place in the world’s history and is worthy of the title ‘The Great’ because of his military prowess, his idealism and his legacy.
Alexander III of Macedon or commonly known as Alexander the Great was the conqueror and king of the Persian Empire which is the Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon. He was born on the 20/21st July 356 BC in Pella, the ancient capital of Macedonia. While in reign from 336 to 323 B.C, he united the Greek city-states and led the Corinthian League. He also became the king of Persia, Babylon and Asia as well as created Macedonian colonies in the region and was a member of the argead dynasty. Unfortunately he died around the 10/11th June 323 BC in Babylon at 32 years of age which was classified as middle aged back then.
In the second part, "Alexander the Great and Heroic Leadership", he details the life and conquests of Alexander the Great. He was a son of Philip II of Macedon whom Philip II had a great influence on Alexander and his methods as a soldier and commander. Throughout Alexander 's childhood, he was well educated in many areas suitable to a young royal. Alexander 's education included learning to sing and play the lyre, hunt and ride and how to debate, and to appreciate epic poetry, mostly as it related to Homer. On the eve of his march into Asia he was certainly one of the best-informed men in the Greek world. Alexander would become known worldwide for being the leader who did what no other could do before or since conquer states and entities on several continents and create a kingdom greater than any other.
