F. Scott Fitzgerald was great at using colors to help best visualise his work. Colors like crimson, green, and gray helped him describe with enough detail for someone to visualise what he means. F. Scott Fitzgerald made it so even when reading a book it was like watching a movie. Colors bring a different aspect to a book when used it can really pull a reader in. The reason F. Scott Fitzgerald used crimson is because he was foreshadowing Gatsby’s death. “Gatsby stood in the centre of the crimson carpet and gazed around fascinated eyes,” (116). At the middle of the novel Gatsby had stood on a carpet colored “crimson” at the end he was killed and was in a pool of his blood. Blood is usually a very dark shade of red so showing a crimson carpet
