Being a nurse not only means compassion, dedication, and intelligence, but the profession also requires endurance, personal sacrifice, and the need for continuous education. I have learned that nurses are some of the most caring and selfless people that anyone will ever meet. Nurses are more than willing to complete challenging tasks and care for others in a way that the majority of people are unwilling to. I am driven to bring all of these qualities into my role as a future nurse practitioner, which is why I am committed to pursuing my Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP).

The career is chose is nursing, I chose this career because I love helping people, I am avid about making sure people are getting everything they need, making sure they get all of their medication so they can get better and can live a healthy life, Being a nurse you will record patients medical history and symptoms, administer patients’ medicines and treatments, operate and monitor medical equipment, explain what they do when going home. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills, talents needed salary and benefits offered and the duties for particular career when making this decision, with my help they could burgeon and get better.

Some other traits include having good communication skills, being emotionally stable, good physical endurance, and diligence. Since nursing consists of talking a lot, ones communication skills should be very well. They must be able to understand what patients are saying, what orders are given by the doctors, and how to successfully chart ones activity. An important trait is being able to be emotionally stable. It is crucial in order to survive all the ups and downs of emotions nurses must experience. For instance, if one has become good friends with a patient and they pass away. It would be hard, but they would need to pull through and put their job first. For nurses to succeed, they should have good physical endurance. As student nurses we are entering a profession that encompasses many different core values such as caring, integrity, diversity, and autonomy. Our professionalism is judged by our behaviors, the way we communicate with coworkers, patients and family members, and how we present ourselves to others. These behaviors can be demonstrated by our appearance, attitude, and desire to assist others. In my opinion, being a professional nurse is someone with a tremendous amount of compassion as well as a positive attitude. Attitude is everything in life, and you certainly won’t go far with a negative one.
