Imagine being a zoo animal. Wouldn’t the animal want to be free, and not in captivity? There should not be zoos. From outside of a cage it is barely noticeable, but what is happening to the zoo animals is not right. There should not be zoos because animals cannot exercise which leads to health issues, they have little to no space which causes depression, and there are other places that help animals in a safer and more productive way. The history of zoos is that animals would be in tin cages, now, they live in fake terrain, so none of these habitats are appropriate for animals. Zoos say that they are helping endangered animals, but really they are killing them.

Animals kept in zoos has always been a controversial decision. Zoos have been around for 4,000 years. Many people argue about the impact a zoo has on an animal and the world. According to the article, ”Zoos: The Historical Debate”, “Some people argue that zoos play an important role in conservation of endangered animals, others say that zoos do more harm than good.” I believe that zoos play an important role in conservation. They also educate us about animals. Finally, zoos entertain us in many ways. In my opinion, zoos impact the world in a good way.

Zoos have been around for 4,000 years, for many years people have gone to zoos to see wild animals up close. What people do not know is animals don't have the best interest in being in a zoo. After reading the article a logical conclusion is zoos are detrimental to animals.

Countless land and aquatic animals are held captive in zoos. However, are zoos really conserving wildlife like they say, by putting animals on display? Negative. Zoos are unsuitable environments for wild animals, and therefore should be eradicated. Zoos should cease to exist for three main reasons: animals deserve just as much freedom and happiness as humans, enclosing them in confined habitats harms them, and imprisoning them infuriates them.

Although keeping animals in captivity is bad because they don't get to be themselves they should keep animals in zoos or captivity because it helps the species not go extinct, it brings happiness to families that go to the zoo, and zoos bring in enough money to build better exhibits. It’s human nature to have compassion towards animals and an instinct to react if they are abused or mistreated. This human nature is the foundation to the controversial topic of whether zoos are ethical to have. With this issue, there are various reasons that promote the importance of zoos along with reasons to why they can be considered immoral. Both sides are essentially equal and fighting for the same result, the well-being of the animal both physically and mentally. It’s difficult to determine which side is right, but I believe that zoos are beneficial to not only humans but the animals as well.

Millions of animals are being kept at zoos and aquariums, with too little space, being watched by people every day and being beaten up if they don’t behave as “they should”. I don’t think that it can come anything good out of keeping animals at zoos.

Do you know that feeling when you have no privacy or personal space and you just want to express violence, well that is how zoo animals feel every day. I am against zoos because animals are not able to run free, can be mistreated, and can cause animals to come out aggressive towards others.

Zoos have been around for thousands of years holding thousands of different species for humans to marvel at. The first recorded instance of animals in captivity was in fifteen hundred B.C. in egypt where animals from all over Africa were kept. Zoos have been used as ways for people to view animals they would most likely never have a chance to see in the wild. This is why zoos have been so popular because everyday people have the opportunity to see animals that they would have never seen before. Zoos sometimes even take endangered or hurt species and nurture them back to health, but the amount of human interaction animals get in the zoo environment can be extremely harmful in the long run. By becoming more comfortable with humans, animals a lot of the time become more vulnerable to poachers and predators (Cite). Also, students at Oxford University studied the effects of zoo captivity on species and found many animals suffer reproductive, health, and behavioral problems after being held in captivity (Evans). And on few occasions animals, such as snow leopards and ring-tailed lemurs, adjust well and can even thrive in captivity. However, a lot of the time the only reason we keep them in captivity is for the education of humans, maybe it’s time to educate another way, perhaps with some of the technology we are loaded with

In my opinion I think there should not be zoos. And they have more food in the wildlife and they are free in the wildlife and not in a small area. they can get sick in the zoo, in wildlife they can live with fresh air and they can’t get that sick in the wildlife. There should not be any zoos because animals can die.

Shouldn’t an animal have the right to freedom? Animals should not be forced into captivity. Zoos don’t allow their animals to have the same freedom like they do in the wild. Zoos are not appropriate for animal containment.

Their shouldn’t be zoo’s because some zoo’s don’t give the animal’s enough space. For example, some zoo’s keep whales and dolphins in small tanks for at least 24 hours so all they can do is spin around in circles. It’s like living in a bathtub.

There shouldn’t be zoos because, zoos do not really care about the animals. For example, some zoos sell animals when they become older and are not making as much money for the zoo, so the zoo can just go buy more animals to sell. Also, when they are sold people could be buying them to be Kill the animals. Next, when zoos take animals that are sick they never release them back into the wild where they can roam free in the real wild instead of fake ones where they just sit there all day well people look at them.

In my opinion, I think that there shouldn't be Zoos. I think there shouldn’t be Zoos because the animals are mistreated. The animals should be in the wild because that's their natural environment. Some Zookeepers don’t take care of the animals that live in the Zoos. That is why I believe that there shouldn’t be any Zoos.
