Even though the drill sergeant told us to keep our heads down, I couldn’t help but peek my head up just to see what is out the window. All I saw was the beautiful blue sky with no clouds in site, and the sun just smiling down on us. I was seven years old and it was in the middle of the summer and I almost got run over by a car. The day was going really good just like any other summer day; I got up, got dressed, ate breakfast, and went outside to play. For breakfast that day we had pancakes that tasted like they were made by angels. I was a typical 19 year old kid out of high school. I had no inspiring ideas as to what I wanted to be when I grew up. I had a lot of energy with a rebellious attitude. I went drinking and went clubs that I had no business being in with my “friends” and made some bad decisions. I lived on my brother’s ratty brown couch, in hind sight I was wasting away physically and wasting my life all in one shot. One day I was faced with a serious decision. Either I am going to continue down the path of destruction and watch my brother get hurt because of me or I get out of my dangerous lifestyle and become something more. I choose the Marine Corps. Little did I know I just choose to leave behind who I was to become the best man I never knew I could be.

It was a start of the new lovely day in the middle of summer 2006. I went out to feel some fresh air and to find out if my cousin Marek is awoken. His house was right across the road. I asked him if he wants to hang out or play some game outside and he agreed. We took our bicycles and went for a drive. His shoelace loosened up so he stopped to tie it. i packed my things and left "the house of terror". In my mind at thought running away to freedom wouldn't be so bad. but really i was petrified i didn't know what to do. If i wasn't so lazy i would have set a up a plan, the only things i had were my tokyo ghoul backpack filled with personal items (toothbursh, phone, headphones, pads,ect.) then my lugged filled with clothes and shoes. But lucky the area i was in was very fimilar to me. this area is downtown in cheyenne, wyoming. Not only that but the place i've been dying to go to was right across the street. without hesiting i ran through the line of cars honking at me.

I could see people bleeding out of different parts of their bodies, heads chopped off, and girls being raped. With every death I saw, I felt weakened. I heard screams of death, and hundreds of Chinese soldiers yelling. As I look towards them I could see two Tanks and a dozen soldiers standing with guns pointed towards the Chinese. I knew I had to save them, so I bolted towards the tanks with my chest full of confidence and a grenade in each hand, I was gonna blow up the Japanese tanks, soldiers, and sacrifice myself for Chinese soldiers. I was almost at the tank, but a sharp pain in my chest struck, It was the feeling of terror and afraidness. My soul was telling me not to do this, I was too afraid. So, instead of sacrificing myself, I threw both stick grenades towards the tanks hoping that it would do damage. With nothing happening I threw two more and screams of bloody murder rang throughout my ears. Fleeing as fast as I could the opposite way I hid for cover, watching for other survivors with bulging eyes of fear covered in red stringy veins. Due to the fact that our security system was so complicated, they started firing a warning shot in the air. In an attempt to enter in our house. For some reason, they did their homework before their unforgivable crime. They knew my brother was sick and they took advantage the situation. I remember the sticky bomb from my game. It was one of my favorite weapon to kill my enemy in the game. I was not too afraid of the AK47 except for the sticky bomb. Whenever I used the sticky bomb in my game everybody die. At that point, I realize that we were in danger.

After everyone did the stretches they started the first task, seeing dolphins and whales. No seriously. Instead of starting the first someone noticed some whales and dolphins and they watched them for a few moments before starting the real first task which was a name game. Coach Chelsea grabbed a volleyball and first introduced herself and then passed it to Natalie, who passed it to Sharon, who passed it to Cameron, who passed it to Hannah, who passed it to Milo, who passed it to Madalynn, who passed it to Jordan, who passed it to the person who Sharon could never remember his name so she and Madalynn called him the fluffy hair dude because he had fluffy hair and he passed it to Mia, who finally passed it to Coach Nate.
