After joining an expedition to Africa, William Cecil Clayton served as a guide and bodyguard to professor Porter and his daughter Jane. As a result, Clayton appeared to be a chivalrous gentleman, using his experience as a hunter to protect the Porters on their journey. Once the trio began their search for Gorillas, Jane wanders off and is chased by a group of baboons after stealing back her drawing from a baby baboon.
