When I heard about the band, “Artic Rush,” on their tour called, “Freeze the World,” I was immediately intrigued. I then made my way to Seattle, WA on June 20, 2016, to see if band was all it’s cracked up to be. The first thing I noticed multiple different was the tickets were an extraordinary price of only $75! That is outrageously cheap for the quality of the show. The lead singer, Jimmy Buffet has an amazing voice with multiple personalities shown in the different songs. On the guitar is Wiz Khalifa who has many electrifying solos and plays with fire in his heart. The keyboardist, Drake, doesn’t get much credit but in the background of each song you can clearly hear his smooth keyboard style played with perfection. Kanye West also has …show more content…
The great thing was there was snow in June! That created an amazing experience that will certainly not be forgotten. The band then performed their big hit known across the nation called, “A Touch of Ice.” The atmosphere during the show had me electrified and made me get on my feet. The most memorable part to me was when Wiz Khalifa “froze” the crowd with his outstanding guitar solo. The next song entitled, “Icy Roads,” was a song that Jimmy Buffet really sung his heart out. It was a slower song than, “A Touch of Ice,” with a whole different, smooth style. Lasers, lasers, lasers! While the song went on, there was an eye grabbing laser show! The crowd would see lasers of all colors, glistening across the arena! Unfortunately, during the show, one of the speakers died, “freezing” all action. That was the only disappointing thing to me, and if they make sure that doesn’t happen again, the show will be perfect! After the show Drake told reporters, “I feel like we played our hearts out on the stage. There are still people who deserve just as much praise as we do and they are the people backstage. They make sure the effects and everything are perfect for us to
A friend and I went to Skully’s music diner on Sunday night to watch The Flex Crew. Their band consists of seven members and they all varied on the different instruments. Some were strictly on vocals, while others were on guitars, drums, pianos, etc. On top of this, the band was very diverse in regards to playing and singing. Yes, there was a main guitarist and a main singer, but throughout the songs they all grabbed different instruments and sang different pieces of the songs. I also learned they originated from Columbus and have been around for close to twenty
Although there were just the slightest things that could be changed and that is that when Molly's part to sing came her voice was barely heard from the middle seats and also the half time food could have been better but aside from that it was great, amazing, astonishing, expectations met! For the first show attending this year it was great that is why I definitely recommend people should go and have an amazing time like I
One thing that kept me from enjoying the show to the fullest is the audience. First, they kept talking, using their phones and eating loudly. Furthermore, there was a woman that had her
First, the overall tone in all three pieces was phenomenal, but there were a couple spots during the performance that were not as amazing as the rest of the performance. In the first song, Hamilton by Jerry Brubaker, it was hard to hear certain sections
Those inside the Wonder Bar weren’t the only ones treated to the Springsteen performance. Due to the rapid spread of news of the show, listeners blanketed sidewalks outside the bar and spilled into the street, all in the hope of hearing some music from the Grammy-winning rock and roller. Springsteen addressed the fans that stood outside in the hot summer night air to listen, dedicating the song Light of Day to them according to NJ.com.
Only a small percentage of the people who had bought tickets were unable to make the show. And it was really too bad that they were not able to make it, because it was reviewed by many who attended to be the best show that Interstate 35 had ever put on. And I got to be a part of it! Ziggy Springer was able to sing, “Oh Baby!”, at the top of his lungs to screaming teenage girls dressed in poodle skirts, sign plenty of autographs, and give his fans lots of hugs. The show was amazing, and everyone around me was amazing. The night was simply
The third act was lovely Eli Womble. He is not only a music major, but also on the soccer team. He was not alone and with him on stage were his very good friends. Firstly, he gave a shout out to his mother and girlfriend who sat on the front row. They played two songs clearly Womble had the most fans in the audience. There were a lot of soccer players in the audience who sung along with his song and clearly enjoyed their teammate talents. His teammate, Catawba soccer defense player Jared Bieber said, “He just gets better and better every time I hear him play, he is going to be a superstar.”
Prior to the event, I have never heard about Air Go. Therefore, I did not have any expectations coming in to watch/experience their show Friday night. I’m glad I did not have any background knowledge because it made the experience authentic and easier to connect to the artists. Expressing urban rhetorical expression through the arts is not knew, most rappers that I listened to (J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and Chance the Rapper) put forth this idea when it comes to their music. However, listening to David Ellis and Tasha express their thoughts and emotions through their craft is like having an intimate connection with them because I also saw the issues they are talking about.
Ryland was the DJ, I was shocked at his talent, it wasn't as easy as it appeared to be, but it looked like a lot of fun. Although I shouldn't have been surprised, his whole family sweated talent. He had invited about 20 people, strangers to be, and maybe even to them.
The first two shows didn’t leave much of an impression on me because of the pacing but the final show stood out from them. The curtains were pulled away and a bright blue, yellow aura bounded around the stage. Dancers began to take their place, yet they were far from the center of the stage. The most dancers out of any performance before were just about to begin and then the smooth jazz-like music roared out to the audience.
Maynard Ferguson, jazz legend, internationally renowned big band leader and one of the world’s greatest trumpet players with his Big Bop Nouveau Band. He draws upon bebop, straight-ahead jazz, funk, swing, classical and contemporary music to create a fresh sound within the classic big band form. (cite from Jazz Alley web site) Because me being Korean, I personally was little surprised and impressed by two Korean were members of his big band. A massive piano player, Ji Young Lee, pretty amazing in all pieces, her extended work on “but beautiful” was really lovely and the most memorable. Stockton, powerful drum player, thrilled the audience especially one of my friend, with his solos. He was banging away using all his gear, play in energetic and lively. M.F. and his band provided a remarkable arrangement of "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone," as well as some elegant and very impressive, as Maynard ended a song by playing a soft muted trumpet, while the rest of the band played softer and softer, creating the effect of a fade-out.
Tyler didn’t miss a note. He stayed energetic the whole two and a half hours. Josh drummed so intensely and was so upbeat he had the crowd rocking out. Listening to their lyrics live, I felt inspired and at home. All of their songs have a deeper meaning behind them and a life lesson that can be taken from it. They are extremely influential to their fan base. Looking at them up on the stage, I saw the happiness on their faces. I could tell they were enjoying themselves and that they wanted to be there. That is a big part of concerts.
Not only does the image of the performance have a significant impact on the audience, but the lyrics, and the meaning behind them, has a significant impact on me. According to song facts, “In the end only kindness matters, was inspired by a doctor that treated her for a serious kidney infection when she had no medical insurance and was turned away by the hospital” I can really connect and relate to the meaning behind these lyrics. They hold a special place in my heart; when I was very young I was diagnosed with Kawasaki’s disease. Unfortunately, many doctors turned my family away, but a specialist flew down and tried whatever he could to figure out what was wrong. He finally diagnosed me with Kawasaki’s disease; he took time out of his week, away from his family, to help another family in need. If it wasn’t for this doctor, I wouldn’t be alive today. Which really ties in to another lyric, “My hands are small I know, but they’re not yours they are my own” (Jewel Kilcher, lyrics) which to me, means no matter how small you are, you can make a big difference in this world that we live in. That doctor, saved my life, being one person out of billions in this world, she made an impact that will hold a print on my heart and my family that will last a
Acoustic guitar by Jerry, vocal & piano by Zino Park, bass guitar by Clay Luna, vocal & guitar by Zen, guitar & saxophone by Dan Stark, drum by Skip Mccain, and harp by Monica.
The way Majid Jordan and Drake share the song and complement each other’s sound is one of the most compelling factors for appreciating this song, but this shouldn’t be a surprise at all, especially on Drake’s behalf, as he has proven countless times that he can comfortably work with anyone in the industry. All you need to do is name the time and place, and Drake will be there to slay that beat and make
