The movie "Wonder Woman" is the DC Comic presentation of the origin story of Diana Prince otherwise known as Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is an action-packed thriller about peace, love and empowerment. Appropriate for most ages, "Wonder Woman" is able to please a plethora of ages and interests. I was extremely interested in watching this movie because there are fewer female superheroes and even fewer movies about them. For some reason female superhero movies seem to do badly in the film industry. The introduction of Diana is first in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, however it is not crucial to the plot of “Wonder Woman”, but there are several references to the relationship between Diana Prince and Bruce Wayne. Later in the film Woman are armor clad, but with few other clothing. The prospect of promoting female empowerment is somewhat debatable because although the cast is primarily women and directed by a woman, there is a sort of forced sensuality portrayed throughout the film to try to make others enjoy watching the film. Josiphine Livingstone a writer for "new republic" magazine agrees when she writes "... Wonder Woman explained to those children huddled with me that political morality has an aesthetic and a sexuality." However, she also writes "Beauty, strength, goodness, bravery: These are your values, and here is how your values must look." With which I don’t agree because the movie is not forcing values and their presentation on you, the movie represents the idea that war is not everything. The moral of the movie is not just Diana and how she looks or dresses, it’s about her heart and her purpose.
Diana is also portrayed as dumb throughout the movie because of the isolation on the island where she grew up. She has to be escorted everywhere, and have things explained to her.
