After reading over my information and locating articles t help me understand what these two men life in the office was like, I came to realize that Theodore Roosevelt was a person who wasn’t afraid to get involved in the wars and fight for his people what was right. Wilson was a more educated person a man that was more for the federal government. Woodrow Wilson belief was more for the economy and making sure that the American people was being treated fairly and the business was not being corrupted. In my opinion, I think that these two presidents was and should be considered the best president during the 20th century all because they fought for their people and made sure that the vompleted their duties while in office.

In 1912, President Wilson would go on to become president. What greatly influenced his win was the Bull Moose Party in which was led by former president Teddy Roosevelt, would seal President Wilson win into office in 1913. Wilson created unity for our nation and helped fix several problems that were going on before his term and created the Federal Reserve Act helping the economy. He also created the 14 points to create a platform for debate in which proved to be a failure.

He started a new freedom in the United States. Wilson passed the 16th Amendment, which gave the right of income taxes, and the 17th Amendment, which established the direct election of senators. Theodore Roosevelt pushed for the direct vote of senators and Wilson worked to make what Roosevelt wanted to happen (Document 4). Wilson also established the Clayton Anti-Trust Act, which strengthened the Sherman Anti-Trust Act (Document 5). Wilson strengthened everything that Roosevelt wanted to do. The new Federal Reserve Board, appointed by the president, oversaw a nationwide system of twelve regional re-served districts, each with its own central bank. The final authority over these banks was granted to the Federal Reserve Board, which guaranteed a substantial measure of public control. The board was also empowered to issue paper money called "Federal Reserve Notes." The amount of money in circulation could be swiftly increased as needed for the legitimate requirements of business.      In 1914, Woodrow Wilson tried to tame the trusts. Some were not very successful like his idea of having a Council of Revision which was turned down by the delegates three times and was also the only one of the 55 delegates to make the proposition of having a president elected and serve a three year term. The delegates instead made an electoral college with a four year term which Wilson eventually supported even though it was not his first choice. Even with these differences they still kept Wilson’s proposition of having the new government be a bicameral legislature although they did not make the senates be elected by the people instead they are appointed by the president. Wilson was a big supporter of dual sovereignty and federalism. He felt that since the people were the foundation of the government they should be able to establish as many levels of authority as they wanted to. Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt were two of America’s great presidents. This is why I feel that both men were equally important in what they did and said they would do. Both in their own ways have added a little of what makes this country what it is today. Both had their own beliefs of how reform, empowerment of the people and foreign policy should be accomplished. As president, the main goal was to do what they felt best for the American people. In doing so, how different could they really be?

These three Presidents significantly expanded America 's influence abroad with the annexation of colonies throughout the world, such as the Philippines and Cuba.
