My favorite constellation is Andromeda, and not because of the myth behind her creation or how she looks in the sky. I like Andromeda because just inside her center is the coolest possible thing to see in the night sky. Looking only as a small blurry spot inside of Andromeda, the Andromeda Galaxy is the Milky Way's closest neighboring galaxy. It can be seen (with some degree of difficulty), without the aid of a telescope or binoculars. It blows my mind to know that I am looking at another galaxy entirely!
The Andromeda constellation appears in the night sky as a curved "V" and be seen close to the often recognized "W" shape that is Cassiopeia, Andromeda's mother. Andromeda cannot be seen by anyone living south of 40 degrees in the northern hemisphere. To them, she would simply remain below the

Anyone familiar with the story of Perseus will be familiar with the story of Andromeda. Her mother and father left her chained to a rock to appease the sea monster that was set upon their kingdom for the boastful pride of Cassiopeia. She was rescued by Perseus after he had defeated Medusa. She later marries Perseus even though she had been promised to her uncle. It was after her death that she was laid to rest amid the constellations, to be forever near her husband, Perseus and her mother, Cassiopeia.
Andromeda was the only daughter of a king and queen so full of pride they boasted of her beauty to all neighboring kingdoms and their people. They wished for her to marry one of the princes and unite their kingdoms. But Andromeda, nor her heart, wanted any part in their plans. Her heart belonged to another. Perseus, the Captain of the Guard, had captured the heart of the princess. They loved each other more than life, but had to keep their relationship a secret. After all, a
I chose the constellation Andromeda because the back story and myths it has really fascinates me! I feel that some of the myths behind the consolations can be rather boring, but with the romance and danger all wrapped into one, I continue going back to it. This constellation is the 19th largest in the sky and is located in the first quadrant of the northern hemisphere. It takes seven-hundred-twenty-two square feet in the sky!
thing only he was sure of, that the boy’s life was a terrible danger to his own.
The King of Ethiopia was told by an Oracle that he must sacrifice his daughter in order to save his country. The panicked King chained poor Andromeda to a cliff by the sea. However, before the sea monster could eat Andromeda, a hero saved her from death and killed the sea monster. This is one of the few Greek myths with a relatively happy ending- the hero and Andromeda married and Athena put Andromeda into the stars upon her death. Although Andromeda's myth has a happy ending, it seems to also betray the belief that women are either vain or too weak to stand up for themselves.
The Andromeda Constellation is located in the northern hemisphere, it can be seen at latitudes between +90°and -40° and is best visible at 9 p.m. during the month of November. The constellation is, also, home to the Andromeda Galaxy, that resides 2,5 light-years from earth. This constellation is beyond complex, for the myth that names it, as well for being next doors neighbors with it's galaxy, thus my interest in it.
Orion is my favorite constellation because it is one of the easiest to find and most recognizable. This makes it one of the most popular constellations. Orion's belt includes the three brightest stars in the sky. In the Northern Hemisphere, Orion is a fall and winter constellation, visible from November to February. One of Orion's "stars" is actually a nebula, the Orion nebula.
My favorite constellation by far is the Gemini constellation. The Gemini constellation is my favorite because my star sign is Gemini. And it is fairly easy to spot in the night sky, although the best viewing month is in February.
I have decided to speak of Andromeda, which has an interesting history for my taste and has many interesting facts, for example "Pegaso" shares with the contelacion star Cassiopeia and Cepheus, Kings of Ethiopia were the parents of Andromeda. The Queen Cassiopeia boasted of the beauty of his daughter, and likened it to the Nereids, daughters of the God of the sea Poseidon. Sea goddesses, in response to this affront, Poseidon demanded revenge and it was like this sent a sea monster (Cetus) to destroy the coasts of the country. Cepheus went to the Oracle of Zeus who advised him as the only way to calm the anger of the gods and get rid of the monster was sacrificing his daughter Andromeda attaching it to a rock on the cliff so that the Monster
My Favorite Constellation is Hercules. Hercules is the fifth largest constellation in the sky, occupying an area of 1225 square feet in the sky. I've chosen this constellation because I quite enjoy the Greek myth behind it.
I have chosen to use the constellation Andromeda. I chose it, because I did not know much about it and enjoyed doing a bit of research over this particular constellation. The constellation Andromeda was first catalogued by Ptolemy. It’s the nineteenth biggest constellation and the brightest start is Alpheratz.
I have chosen the Perseus Constellation. I chose that contallation because I have always liked the Greek Gods mythology. Perseus, named after the Greek Mythology hero, is a constellation in the Northen Sky. Perseus is bordered by Aries and Taurus to the south, Auriga to the east, Camelopardalis and Cassiopeia to the north, and Andromeda and Triangulum the west.
My favorite constellation would have to be Orion. I chose this because I've always thought it would be cool to be shooting down starry prey while soaring among the stars. Orion is a hunter. He is forever in the stars hunting down meals and criminals. To me, Orion seemed like a tough guy. He's by himself in the stars, waiting for someone or something to come his way and end his seemingly endless lonely universe. That's why I chose Orion and a little information on this great hunter.
Perseus used Medusa's head to petrify enemies and even saved a stunning woman named Andromeda on his journey back. During this journey, they stopped at Larissa where Perseus joined a game of discus in which the disk Perseus threw, flew and hit a man in the head killing him. This man was Acrisius, proving the Oracle right. After his father's funeral, Perseus continued on and later received blessing from Andromeda's father, King Cepheus of Phoenicia, to marry her and together they rode on Pegasus back to Seriphos.Once Perseus and Andromeda reached Seriphos, Dictys greeted them. He told Perseus of how Polydectes has made Danae his hand maiden upon refusal to marriage. Infuriated by the mistreat of his mother, he had Dictys take care of Andromeda while he sought revenge. He stormed through the castle halls and slammed through the great hall in which the king and his courtiers were having a feast. Perseus swept the now silent room with his eyes in search for his mother. When he saw her standing behind the king, he walked up among all the shocked people that quickly made way for him. When he stood below Polydectes, he told his mother to move away. Perseus drew the wretched head from the satchel with Medusa's face towards the king's
The constellation that I have chosen is Capricornus. Capricornus is one of the twelve zodiac constellations, and it symbolizes the sea-goat. The best time to see this constellation would be at ten o'clock at night in September and October, especially if you live in the Northern Hemisphere. I chose this constellation because according to Astrology I am a Capricorn and thought it would be interesting to know more about the constellation relating to my zodiac sign. Capricornus has five stars with planets in it's constellation.
She lived in this house all alone with nothing to do. One day a shower of gold fell from the sky and filled the chamber. She became pregnant with a child that she knew belonged to the god Zeus. She tried to keep the child a secret, but in the end her father discovered her son Perseus.
The constellation I have chosen is Cancer. I chose this constellation because it is my zodiac sign. Naturally, I found it interesting to learn about and write an essay on my discovery and creation theory. Cancer is Latin for "Crab", The name was chosen because the representation of the the constellation is in fact a crab. The constellation is 506 sq. degrees and made up of faint stars.
