What interest me in this major is that I see working with babies as more of a challenge than working with adults or kids. Babies can’t verbalize what’s wrong, you have to diagnose them, and this is the challenging part. With babies, you have the most potential to impact their lives, because they have their whole life. Also, I have always loved working with kids, what made me go into this career was my little cousin he was premature baby and I would go and take care of him at times and I would always see the nurses doing so many diagnoses to them and that was interesting to me. It’s a challenging career but that’s what I love to experience I love challenging my self.
Once babies are grown in test tubes, there would be no need for parents and therefore vanish the incredible bond between the mother, father, and child. The childhood of a child that was grown in a test tube would be completely unconventional, since that child would not have loving parents to teach them anything. Adults raised this way would grow up to be unusual as a result of not knowing what love is since people first know about love because of the love between them and their parents. The adults grown from test tubes would most likely be independent and isolated from the rest of the world because they would not have created a bond with anyone or even interacted with anyone as a child.
Infants go through different developmental stages. It is a part of the human life cycle. The beginning stages of an infant’s life is the most developing (Payne & Issacs, 2012). One of the stages that infant go through is the Late Infancy Stage. During the Late Infancy Stage, infants between 7-9 months reach many different milestones. As the infant grows and becomes aware of their surrounding the more developed they become. Infants discover new things daily and it is important to support their growth. Late Infancy stage involves the gross motor, fine motor, oral- motor, cognitive language, personal and social
I have always wanted to work with small children in the medical field. After doing research on nursing specialties i found the neonatal. Neonatal nurses work with babies that are born either too early(premature) and/ or are suffering from a life threatening situations such as drug addiction or born with aids. This would be a very tedious job because these babies are most of the time very tiny and the equipment you work with is tiny and if you're not careful you can instantly kill them or seriously injure them. One reason i drew interest in this field was because i have had family members who were born with something wrong or were premature. One of them was actually my brother. He was born with low blood sugar and digestive problems. If it wasn't for the nurses and the doctors my baby brother wouldn't have grown up as healthy as he did. I plan to after earning one of those degrees go back to traveling until i no longer
Before receiving the Real Care Baby, I knew it took a lot of work to care for a newborn. I now know that it takes a lot more than I thought. The forty-eight hours I had the baby were frustrating, exhausting, and stressful. It’s a lot of hard work, but I’m sure if it were a real child it would totally be worth it.

In addition, during my observation, Sydney was able to demonstrate the following gross motor skills. Sydney was placed in a sitting position on the table as well on the floor and was able to sit up unassisted for brief periods of time. Although Sydney appeared to be unstable at times, her mother closely spotted her to ensure her safety. Most babies are able to sit up by themselves unassisted for short periods of time (Oswalt, n.d.). By being able to sit upright and support the weight of her head in the proper position, shows Sydney has developed her core body strength and has met this developmental milestone. In addition, while lying on a blanket on her stomach, Sydney was able to lift her chest and head. According to American Pregnancy Association, most infants at 6 months old can lift their chest and part of their stomach while lying face down (First,
During my four days with the baby I had new developments for how I felt towards children. My initial thoughts on this baby project was that it would be easy and fun because of my experience with my little brother and sister, but boy was I wrong. The project was a lot of work. You don’t get a fun interactive baby, you only get the bad parts of the baby. You get the crying, diaper using, and hungry baby. It’s a lot of work.
As I am quickly approaching my high school graduation, the question of “What are you going to major in? What are you going to be?” gets thrown my way very often. I had always known I wanted to go into the medical field and be help to others but I never knew what. I threw around the idea of becoming a pediatric surgeon, pulmonary pediatric doctor, or finally I came to the consensus of becoming a nurse. Now, another question follows, what kind of nurse? I have jumped around from specializing in Pediatrics or Neonatal. I am researching both careers very intensely to determine which career I am most interested in and would like to pursue. I knew both careers are very intense, it is not easy working with very sick and weak kids.
Big Babies of American Childhood obesity has negatively affected children by causing depression, stress and also lack of sleep. Childhood obesity has negatively affected children by causing depression which leads to low-self-esteem and potentially suicide. Which should not be the case at all in any situation and definitely not for a child who is bullied for the excess fat they can not control. Most obese children are more likely to experience “type 2diabetes”. Children who only eat junk food in their younger days and start eating as people say “human food” to early in the childhood of the child. That makes your child obese as your child grows. Researchers
The first time you laid eyes on your precious little one, you most likely were mesmerized feelings of love and awe. Fast forward a few years and you might be wondering what demon has possessed your once angelic being. Perhaps now your baby seems to have more in common with a moody, hormonal teenager than the picture sweet, loving baby they once were. If this is true for your toddler, you aren’t alone. In fact, toddlers in general favor teenagers in many ways, some of which are listed below:
I observed the two year old baby that I often baby-sit throughout the week. His name is Lincoln and he his at my house from seven til around four every weekday. Although he is very small and seems to be behind on development, he is very smart. He loves to play with his toys, and always has to be doing something. He is very aware of what goes on around him and he interacts with these things very well. He likes to repeat things that are said and done. Especially things I say or do. He calls my mom pretty often, but he seems to know the difference between her and his own mother so I think he does it out of habit, because he’ll usually do it when he is pouting, being ignored, or tired. He talks very well, but sometimes he’ll say something and
The stern figures of the global burden of pregnancy-related deaths are now so well known. Every year, approximately eight million women suffer pregnancy-related complications 289 000 women die due to complications in pregnancy and childbirth, and 6.6 mil¬lion children below 5 years of age die of complications in the newborn period and of common childhood diseases. Worldwide, the majority of maternal and newborns deaths occur around the time of birth, typically within the first 24 hours after childbirth. In developing countries, one woman in 16 may die due to pregnancy-related complications compared to one in 2800 in developed countries. Many of these maternal and neonatal deaths more than 80% of could be prevented or avoided through actions
A 600-pound woman has given birth to a 40-pound baby at Perth’s King Edward Memorial Hospital, a record breaking weight that could possibly make the newborn the largest baby ever born, reports the Western Australian Herald.
Established on July 30th, 1996, it was a cold and stormy night in Campo Grande Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, also known as cattle-country. A baby girl is born; who also surprisingly resembled a baby cow. That baby girl was named Hannah Aragao Reiter. Fast-forward 19 years into the future and we have a Freshman Saint who just began her journey at Flagler College. Majoring in Political Science and minoring in Law, Ms. Reiter hopes to one day work in Congress with the people and for the people of the United States of America. Ms. Reiter is fluent in English, Portuguese and Sarcasm. Avid animal rights activist, Ms. Reiter rescued a cat who is now named Snoopy and may or may not be having an identity crisis. Ms. Reiter has been working in the restaurant
Some features that I would include in my ideal infant care program would to try a child’s eye view when I start to see where accidents might happen. I would feature different areas like a lunch area, sleeping area, play area, reading area, and relaxing area for both the children and the families so they can be comfortable. My plans that I would include would be to make sure that there are all kinds of toys and equipment that will help children develop a wide variety of skills and help develop large and small muscle. This will increase children’s abilities and develop their confidence. The policies that I would use would have to be open door policy where a parent will be allowed to visit the child care provider any time care is offered.
