They say that they like series of articles and that they allow linking from one article to another within the website. If that is the case, it may be a good idea to submit a series of these over time. For example, each of the headers could be used as the topic of another article. For example, “How to write a story of revenge” or “How to write a story of revenge and feel better without break the law.” This article could then be re-edited to include reciprocal links to the articles within the website.
ESSAYS-33135 #14 How to deal with emotional difficulties with the help of writing
Writing has the power to allow you to communicate feelings and ideas with a large group of people, but many are unaware that writing also has a therapeutic quality. It is quite possible to use the act of writing to soften and heal your emotional difficulties. In addition, whilst you are healing, you may also inadvertently create some truly fantastic fictional content.
Warning - To All Writer Our There
Writing can help with your emotional troubles in more ways than I can articulate. There have been times in my life when I have experienced the worst hardships, and yet in some way, the act of writing helped make me feel better and even more well adjusted as a person.
However, writing is a very solitary and isolated hobby, so if you take it up as a profession, you have to know when to give it a rest for a while. Being isolated and solitary for extended periods can sometimes make your emotional
Writing has affected my life for the better, but our relationship is still rocky. I never realized how much of an impact writing would have on my life, until I began my career in law enforcement. Prior to my career in law enforcement, I was a student-athlete. I always viewed writing as a chore, something that I had to do, and that always frustrated me. It frustrated me, because, I did not think I was good at it. I then discovered personal writing. I began writing letters, telling stories, the whole nine yards; I learned to allow personal writing to be an outlet, and that helped me to become an overall better writer. After I became familiar with personal writing, writing started to grow on me. I found myself doing more and more writing, and I was enjoying it. When I enjoy writing, it makes the whole process seem easier.
Writing became a way for me to express other feelings throughout my young years, but I always ended up writing in notebooks about how I was lonely and felt that I was the source of everything wrong in my life.
My relationship with writing could have culminated into three words; fear, quality, and of course no relationship is complete without excitement. Like any new relationship, emotions can determine the success or demise of the relationship. These emotions all work to the betterment of the writer and the writing relationship, each emotion feeding ever so slightly off one another. Exploring these writing relations reveal the truth where my writing relationship is concerned.
Some may argue that writing is not the only way to help others, there is no denying that there are other possibilities like group therapy but writing is still an avenue that can be taken towards the betterment of an individual. For example, Judy Willis, author of “Writing and the Brain: Neuroscience Shows the Pathways to Learning.” Stated,
Many people hold their own personal experiences and opinions about writing. Whether they be positive or negative, those viewpoints one may obtain will shape them as a writer. For example, if someone has had a traumatic past with writing, they might be afraid of it. On the other hand, a healthy writing background may aid in alleviating the stress one feels towards their writing. Several factors play a role in how people write and the emotions they feel about it. Surprisingly, even famous authors have insecurities about their work, such as, Anne Lamott and she revels them in her piece called “Shitty First Drafts.”
The author agrees that writing can help someone process previous trauma, but she also acknowledge that writing may not work on everyone.
In believing that writing have soothing effects to “the fabric of personality (p. 4)” Karen Cangialosi targets anybody with an emotional problem to settle down and create a “cohesive personal narrative (p. 2).” As a result, people will make sense of their lives through their writings and truly experience the “healing through the written word.” Having her target be people with instability, Cangialosi’s article serves the purpose to a remedy for them.
The beauty of writing is that we all have the power to write down how we feel about things in our daily lives or things that are occurring in our world. This is the most vital reason to why I love the concept of writing. Being able to write down how you feel about a specific thing without having to worry about anyone else judging your opinions is liberating. I view writing as a blank canvas. Something that's blank is empty or undecorated. A blank canvas hasn't been drawn or painted on yet, it's clean and unmarked. We have the power to decorate, personalize, and create whatever we desire on a piece of paper. When I become suppressed with negative emotions, I tend to write or type out what’s bothering me and by doing so, it helps me break down everything that’s making me upset or angry and figure out possible solutions to fix the problem or problems that are going on in my
It is impossible to produce a piece of writing without creativity and imagination. As the foundation of writing, these aspects of writing creativity enhance the learning experience of oneself and others. Creativity and imagination also serves a therapeutic function by enabling individuals to escape whatever harsh realities they may be forced to endure. In addition, extending far beyond the creation of literature or fiction, these unique aspects of writing also enable one to establish and strengthen their own expressions, empathies, and criticisms of themselves and the world around
Family tragedies began affecting my life since seventh grade, and it had not seemed to be getting any better. As such, I used writing as a healthy escape from my life. I could vent and create imaginary characters that experienced similar misfortunes as I had, and as the writer, I had the choice of giving each character a happy ending. By my sophomore year, my desire to write was slowly dwindling, but luckily, my high school offered a creative writing class.
If you were to type in “writing is…” into a search bar, the first suggestion that would pop up would be “writing is hard.” In many ways it can be, writing is an outlet to put all your personal thoughts and experiences onto a paper for all to see and criticize is nerve- racking. For any person writing can be a struggle to piece together their thoughts into coherency, but it is all part of the bigger process. Writing can help you convey what you truly believe and let your creativity run free through putting a part of yourself into your work. It is a way to let out any powerful emotions about something that is happening in your life in a healthy, almost therapeutic way. This idea of revealing your true self for your work can be seen in Leon Uris’s quote that states,” You can lie to your wife or your boss but you cannot lie to your typewriter sooner or later you must reveal your true self in your pages.” The author uses the typewriter as a metaphor for an object you can confide in and not lie to much like a diary.
Writing allows me to express my views as a student. I have always enjoyed writing well as speaking. By writing first, then preparing and reciting notes, I am able to push through the nervous jitters when I have to speak at work. Writing first, then speaking will help you get a clear message across (Young, 2006). For me, being able to write has been healing. As I am sure most families experience issues of some kind, my family had many issues while I was a child. So, writing was and still is a tool for me to get things out and off of mind. A few friends of mine say they do not like to write and would not do it unless they had to. I encourage them to find something they want to learn about, then read about it and the writing will come. We can become passionate in writing about what we are interested in learning about (Quinn, 2015). Well, I do have to write for this class and for school in general. But, I choose to view it as an extension of what I already like to do, which is express my thoughts and understandings about what I read or study. The only difference with school is that someone is telling me what I have to read or study. This can make the learning less passionate, but if I can find one little thing that I can grab on to, it seems to provide me with a purpose to write.
Writing is a way to express our feeling and thoughts, and it helps us to convey memorable memories in our life on to paper. For most people writing is meditation, but for me writing gives me peace of mind and writing is stress relief. I like to share some marvelous facts about writing, and how it affected me as a writer. Writing can offer many rewardss when practiced regularly. Writing brings sense of peace and it can help better one’s memory.
Anxiety Disorders affect 18.1 percent of adults in the United States, which totals to almost forty million people aged eighteen to fifty-four. Panic Disorders affect 2.7 percent of people in the United States, totaling to six million people. These statistics, found on the “ADAA” website, do not even count towards all the people who ignore their symptoms and decide not to get medical help. I decided to research if writing helps people cope with their anxiety or deal with their panic attacks partially because I have anxiety, and writing has always helped me calm down when I feel a panic attack coming on. I also wanted to perform research on this because I was interested in seeing if others, like myself, used this method of coping.
Writing is one of the most popular forms of communication these days. With social media and text messaging in our pockets, writing is more convenient than face to face conversation. The problem with texting and social media posts is how hard it is to read emotion in the short passages. In person it's easy to tell how someone is feeling by their tone of voice, facial expressions, body language etc. If you learn how to write well you can better express what you're feeling even from miles away. Writing can also help you get a better job. I took a business class where we learned how to write a good resume. We were taught that wording is the most important part. For example instead of saying I was a sandwhich maker at Wendy's, I would say that I was a food preparation specialist at a national chain. See the difference? But you can write for more than just “productive” reasons. You can write for fun! Write a poem for your mom for mother's day, write a short story, how you feel, what you did today, write about that cute boy in your class. Just
