There are a number of expectations that are required to be in our written responses and discussion boards. When completing written responses writing should contain accurate information, have reserach in it , be persuasive and comprehensive. Furthermore, these writing assignments have specific instructions on how the writing has to be written. For example in some assignments there has to be either 2-3 paragraphs with over 100 words. Also we have to keep in mind that we should proofread our writing along with submitting writings in word or as a Rich Text format. In addition our writing has to be double spaced, indented and have a one inch margin. When we are answering on the discussion board we have to follow the specific instruction of what
While attending writing class, I learned about the 4 steps in writing, bases for revising, organizing, and connecting specific information, and I also learned about the different types of essays such as descriptive, narrative, process, cause and effect and argumentative essay. I have been a student at Milwaukee Area Technical College for 1 semester, and over the course of my enrollment I have grown and learned more that I knew prior to attending this writing course. Participating in this writing class has taught me so much more than stuff about literature and language, it has taught me another way of expressing myself. I have learned here how to write and express myself, how to think for myself, and how to find the answers to the things that I don 't know. Most importantly I have learned how important technique, outlines and organization are. My goal in this paper is to inform writers about how my writing skills have improved.
Scenario 1: You are preparing fifth grade students for the Alabama Writing Assessment. So far, students are struggling. Students are just not interested in writing. How can you peak their interest and improve their writing scores? Will you incorporate Writer's workshop? Two to three paragraphs.
Please keep your answers brief. Solid academic writing is expected. Refer to the GCU Academic Writing Guidelines in the Student Success Center.

Please review the writing guidelines I posted. Again, I look forward to reading your write-ups.
Writing this class is really a challenge for me.I never thought I would spend so much time writing. This is something I've never had before. However, I will turn the impossible into a possibility in this semester, and I believe I can do it.Because there is a good saying that you don't try to see how you know you can't do it.It is true that I will complete my challenge in this semester and keep moving towards my goal.In the future, my goal is to be a good salesman, and this skill is absolutely indispensable. To convince a person, you have to present your own points of interest and strong empirical evidence that you are right.Writing this class is the best way to strengthen this skill.I want to talk about how I grew up in writing and how much skill I learned.I'm going to tell you what I have encountered in writing and what challenges I have and how I overcame him. There are three challenges that I find difficult. At the beginning, the Internet quotes a strong and powerful argument to support my article with the use of grammar and paragraph architecture.
As part of students IEP resource program and RtI services, I provide instruction for the development of written expression, as evidenced by my Professional Growth Experience #2. My methodology for writing instruction has evolved dramatically. Now I see each student as an individual somewhere on the path to independent “author.” I work to meet each student’s learning need at their level. Currently, students work at their own level and I provide individual or small group mini-lessons to support weaker skills. I learned from experience to create quality, high interest prompts that address a real audience to teach “voice.” My format support Common Core’s informative/explanatory writing standard and engages critical thinking and motivation. During the course of this semester; the variety of writing styles and essays assigned to me in my communication skills class encouraged the development of my writing skills, as well as provided me with more self-assurance in my abilities. My writing, research, and presentation abilities enhanced through practice, determination, and the understanding I gained during this course. With every single writing assignment, I learned new innovative approaches and skills, which enhanced my abilities to improve my thoughts logically, enabling me to write more clearly, and to organize my papers more effectively. At the beginning of this semester; despite the fact that I already knew the terminology MAP: message, audience, purpose; I never really
Students are instructed on how to develop and organize their writing by developing a plan or out line to follow. Teachers should discuss with their students how to effectively plan out their writing strategy. Students need to be taught to question themselves about the purpose of their writing. Questions like; “Who am I writing for?” or “How will I organize my thoughts?” are two general examples. Gersten mentions the importance and purpose of the first draft and how it provides a concrete reminder for where the writing is going. The plan and its draft provide a common language for teacher and students to share making communication easier. He also speaks of the strengths of the revision process. Gersten illustrates how peer-editing can be a useful tool to employ during writing.
One of the most important course objectives that I’ve grown accustomed to is the writing process itself. In the writing process, we are able to revise our writing where it is weak and earn a better grade than before. Since I took advantage of the revision process, not only was I able to improve my grade, but I was able to prevent the same mistakes from happening again in other writing assignments. From revisions alone, I’ve learned how to improve my writing skills and catch mistakes that I wouldn’t have seen
By doing these assignments I successfully done the goal one for the class; writing for a specific audiences and purposes. I was able to achieve that goal was through the three two different papers I composed through the course of this semester. Those three papers were an annotated bibliography, persuasive essay, and cover letter. Once I started writing these papers I had to writing as a legislator would. That meant I had to brainstorm the language and information I had to supply in the papers. My audience for this paper was for judges, high officials and people who would find interest on my topic. To relate to them I mostly talked about how
As a writer there are many elements of writing that I struggle with, especially when composing an essay. When writing an essay, there are usually many skills that need to be used in order to be successful with the writing assignment. Many times in writing I struggle with explaining and fully developing the supporting details and ideas in my essay. I would also like to improve on incorporating clear topic sentences and concluding sentences, connecting my paragraphs ideas back to my thesis. Lastly, improvement can be made in my writing by avoiding awkward or wordy sentences. Writers face numerous challenges in their writing but strive to overcome or improve these challenges with each piece they write.
Before I write anything in the discussion forums or an assignment, I generally complete all of my readings and notes. For my notes I use mostly the Cornell Method of note taking, and all of my notes for each week are contained within individual weekly documents files, explicitly dated and titled. When taking notes I generally read a paragraph or two and then try to shorten down the key points. Most typical notes are taken on a computer, however, like in the case
This is the second occassion that you have chosen to complain about the response post assignment instead of responding to your classmate's ideas. You have not completed the requirement of posting a response that initiates a discussion and illustrates that you are thinking critically about these writing concepts. While I understand that you may be emotionally affected by the topic of the given speech in week 6, I do not believe this excuse extends to the week 5 discussion of letter writing, which you also did not respond to critically. Please review TSTC's netiquette policies with regard to the correct tone that should be used when addressing classmates in a discussion. Any future posts that simply complain about having to write the posts
In writing it’s important to have an understanding of what you’re trying to convey for your audience in addition to how you you will present your ideas. Effective communication extends beyond having well organized writing expressed in complete and coherent sentences. The style, tone and clarity of writing must also be considered, as they are constantly changing relative to the audience. Again, analyzing one’s audience and purpose is essential to successful writing. Appropriately, when choosing the most effective language, it is important to consider the document objective as well as the reader. In essence, this idea of effective use of language has been the overarching theme of this online English course. Each writing assignment
