This machine known as a x-ray can send a jolt of radiation past your skin and expose you to your bare anatomy and give a crystal clear image of what your bones really look like. My dream job is to be a x-ray technician. This job would bring together my love of modern medicine with my fascination of new medical technology, how medical tools can assist with the overall quality of life. I have always enjoyed science and how it can be applied to technology to make healthcare easier to administer. Additionally, i'm interested in this career because learning how to work these pieces of technology and understanding them is a challenge and any challenge you can overcome in life makes you stronger.
I want to be part of the Ultrasound program because I realized that where I’m from people don’t consider going into a major like this. I was raised to become a doctor or a nurse it was either of those or your family will be disappointed. I looked at how many doctors and nurses my community has but rarely any ultrasound technicians. I also like to travel to different parts of the world and I would love to have those skills as a ultrasound technician to help those women who are unable to afford to go to a clinic to see if their baby is in good condition. A woman should never have to choose between making a decision about losing her kid, I want to be able to help those women that are struggling daily whether their baby has a health condition or even letting the parents know their baby gender.
Career as an Xray Technician could be an awarding job. An xray technician is in the medical field in which you can work at hospitals, doctor offices, medical and diagnostic laboratories, diagnostic imaging centers and outpatient care centers. The most common name for xray technicians are none as radiologic technicians. As an xray technician you can also have specialties in fluoroscopy, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and mammography.
I currently attend Baton Rouge General School of Radiologic Technology to pursue an Associates degree through Northwestern State University. I chose this profession because I always want to help others. I want to play a part in the healing process of patients. Being able to help people determine things going on inside their body interest me and that is why I chose Radiology. The true definition of a Radiologic Technologist is the “medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations and administer radiation therapy treatments. They are educated in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection and basic patient care”. This definition makes this job seem easy but it is not an easy job at all. We do so much pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients it is physically exhausting. When I first chose this profession I did not think there would be this much to taking images of someone. It is more than just placing a patient somewhere and
Because of her healing factor, X-23 can push her muscles, joints, and ligaments to levels beyond the natural limits of a woman of her height, weight, and build without sustaining injury. Unlike Wolverine, her skeleton isn't laced with Adamantium. While her skeleton, much like her musculature, can withstand greater pressures than a normal human skeleton, she can only withstand so much weight and pressure without sustaining fractures. While not superhuman, she is as physically strong as an ordinary human can be and can lift about 800 lbs.
I hope to continue my education by attending West Virginia University. At WVU, I plan to study to become a radiology technician. I have always dreamed of working in the medical field. Radiology technicians are people who take x-rays, MRIs, mammograms, and images like that. The technician is also in charge of making sure the patient is safe in the process of imaging being taken. After completing my studies at WVU, I wish to find an available job in the state of West Virginia or a surrounding state. I have always dreamed of working the medical field, and being a radiology technician seems to be the career for
The career I would like to pursue would be Ultrasonography. Ultrasonography is a diagnostic medical procedure that uses high frequency sound waves to see images of a patients internal organs, tissues and blood flow. I first became interested in this field when I became pregnant with my first child. I thought that the ability to see images on the inside of a person's body was very intriguing. I've had many ultrasounds in my lifetime and my favorite were always the ones where I got to see the development of my baby. To be able to see a human being before it's even born is one of the most phenomenal things you could ever imagine. To be an sonographer would be a very rewarding career in so many ways. I would be able to help my patients who were hurt or injured, yet I would also be able to show expecting parents there
What has always been your dream career growing up? My dream career has been to be a radiologist, but not just any kind of radiologist an X-Ray technician. The outline of a radiologist is very interesting. The statistics stated in my essay will provide more information on X-Ray techs and radiologist in general.
I have broken many bones and fractured different bones in my body. In order to heal the bone that is broken, they do an x-ray or scan to see how severe the brake is. Experiencing the x-ray and seeing how the radiologist reads it, interested me further in the field of radiation. I plan to apply to Pierpont Community Technical School in Fairmont to get an associate’s degree in radiation therapy. As I accelerate towards a bachelor’s degree to administer the radiation to patients, I will feel accomplished with my passion while assisting others with cancer to reach their goal of being cancer free. I plan to work at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown West Virginia because it has always been a dream of mine to work in an oversized medical environment. I picture myself being more stable living at home while I am in college to financially plan out my future for myself while working a part time
I have always desired a career that would allow me to improve the lives of those around me while caring for a family of my own. I desire to feel successful through continual learning and challenge. Radiologic Technology will provide me this with ever changing tasks with different circumstances and challenges that require problem solving, critical thinking, and determination. Radiologic Technology will allow me to have interaction on a personal level with patients and their families and provide the opportunity to improve their lives by searching for the things that don’t appear on the
On Tuesday August 30, 2016 a Male 63 years of age came into Christus Spohn South Heath Center with a diagnostic order for chest and rib x-rays. He was being seen because of chest pain on his right side due to a fall. He had an extensive patient history of x-rays that went as far back as 2014. For the year of 2016 he received approximately 12 different x-ray series. For example, on January 12, 2016 he received a chest 1 view image and cardiac catheterization. On May 21, 2016 he received a chest 1 view and a complete 4 view foot. On May 30, 2016 he received a cardiac catheterization. On June 1, 2016 and again on June 2, 2016 he received a chest 1 view. On June 10, 2016 he received a catheterization. On August 25, 2016 he received a chest 2 view. On August 26, 2006 an upper extremity without contrast. The patient also has a history of open heart surgery and receives dialysis treatments and is on oxygen.
And then one day, I stumbled upon the specialty of medical imaging, and I knew this was a career I could pursue and eventually succeed in. Many days after that were filled with researching every possibility within the area of imaging, and between my research and a tour of the radiology department, I was hooked. With so many different modes of imaging, I enjoyed contemplating which one I would thrive in, and so began my fascination with x-rays and ultrasonography. With this in mind, so begun my journey at Boise
I have this notion that being an X-Ray Technician is something anybody can learn quick and easy. Get the patient undress, instruct the patient to get in the exam table, get the pelvic area covered then go to the computer and press a key in the keyboard.
After being away for my first year of college, I finally got to see what this world is full of and the plethora of opportunities that are out there. My academic goals consist of completing my requirements at Monterey Peninsula College and earning my Associates Degree, then attempt to get into Cabrillo College’s Radiology Certification program to get my life started. My vocational goals are to get certified as a Radiology Technician, then eventually go a step higher and become a Radiologist. During my college experience, I have experienced what it is like to “wear many hats.” I am a full time college student and athlete, as well as working to help pay off my education. It was a rough start trying to find the time to balance everything,
X-rays were discovered by accident in 1895 by the German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen. Roentgen was already an accomplished scientist with forty-eight published papers. He had a reputation among the scientific community as a dedicated scientist with precise experimental methods. Roentgen had been conducting experiments at the University of Wurzburg on the effect of cathode-rays on the luminescence of certain chemicals. Roentgen had placed a cathode-ray tube, which is a partially evacuated glass tube with metal electrodes at each end, in a black cardboard box in his darkened laboratory. He sent electricity through the cathodre-ray tube and noticed something strange his laboratory. He saw a flash of light
