This unit based on the earliest resources on Canadian history and on the first nations whom lived in this country. This resources were about pre-Cartier and his explorations. Some nations, for example the people who lived in St. Lawrence valley – whom did not have a specific name to be called at- and historians still lacking enough evidence on their existence or what happened with them. These people who are identified as St. Lawrence Iroquoians were lived in the contact area which means the conquerors reached them first. Throughout the Nick Adams and other stories featuring dominant male figures, Ernest Hemingway teases the reader by drawing biographical parallels to his own life. That is, he uses characters such as Nick Adams throughout many of his literary works in order to play off of his own strengths as well as weaknesses: Nick, like Hemingway, is perceptive and bright but also insecure. Nick Adams as well as other significant male characters, such as Frederick Henry in A Farewell to Arms and Jake Barnes in The Sun Also Rises personifies Hemingway in a sequential manner. Initially, the Hemingway character appears to be impressionable, but he evolves into an isolated individual. Hemingway, due to an unusual childhood and possible post traumatic

The Kingdoms of Judah and Israel from ca. 922 to 586 BCE have a significant impact not only on the Jewish tradition, but also on the history of Ancient Israel and its development, therefore it is important to discuss their political structure and influence. To discuss the political structure and developments of this period modern scholars refer to as the divided monarchy in Ancient Israel, there must first be a discussion of the political and religious factors that bring about the unification and later division of the tribes of Israel. In the Hebrew Bible, various tribes are depicted as encompassing the land of Canaan prior to a time modern scholars refer to as the united monarchy, which refers to the rule of King Saul, David and Solomon.
For online P.E. this year, my primary goals were to increase my overall fitness. I do not find the time to exercise frequently during the school year, so I wanted to develop a routine that was doable, enjoyable, and beneficial for my overall health. I set two goals: to increase the number of push-ups and sit-ups I can do in one set, and also to build up cardiorespiratory endurance (by training myself to run 5 miles in a single hour). As such, I chose exercises and activities that would help me achieve my goals. For my cardio activity, I chose to run on my treadmill for about an hour a couple days a week. For my strength activity, I chose to do pilates workout videos. I also used a workout app about once a week to add variety to both my strength and cardio routines. I fulfilled my additional choice activity requirement by hiking and playing pick-up games with my family and friends. I chose these activities because I believed that they would help me achieve my goals while also being enjoyable enough to keep me motivated. Overall, I am happy with my choices. While running on the treadmill may not sound like the most fun activity to do, I appreciated the consistency of running on a controllable treadmill. It was easy to judge my progress without the environment affecting my performance, like it would if I ran outside. Pilates is one of my favorite exercises to do, and probably the one I will continue the most into the school year. There are many different videos available
In the words of Anne Bradstreet, “If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.” As writers of the modern era expressed their hardships through poetry, one can only hope that they kept such advice in mind. Through captivating works, poets such as Langston Hughes, Edwin Arlington Robinson, Robert Frost, and E.E. Cummings expressed the struggles of life during the modern era. By examining what these poets have to say about dissatisfaction with life, feelings of inadequacy, and loneliness, it becomes clear that life during the modern era was full of hardships.
