What is the Definition of an Echo?

Answer – An echo is defined as a delayed sound that is bounced off a surface due to the reflection of sound waves.

Explanation:

The word “echo” comes from the Greek word ēchō, which means “sound.” The surface from which this sound is reflected could be a wall, a mountain, or any other obstructing object. The greater the distance between the source of the sound and the surface, the longer the pause before the echo is heard.

Echoes are natural phenomena, and some animals (bats and dolphins) even use them for navigation.
