What is the Trunk of the Body?

Answer – The part between the neck and the waist, excluding the arms, is called the trunk of the body. It comprises all the vital organs besides the brain.

Explanation:

Also called the torso, the trunk is the central part of the body from where the head, arms, and legs extend. It can be divided into the following parts:

1. Upper chest: Comprises the heart and lungs in the rib cage

2. Abdomen: Contains most of the digestive organs such as the stomach, liver, intestines (both small and large), gallbladder, anus, and rectum as well as the excretory organs such as the kidney, ureters, and urethra

3. Pelvis: Houses the reproductive organs in both males and females

The spine is also a part of the trunk. It runs through the entire torso at the back of the body, providing structural support.
