What Type of Weather is Associated with Warm Fronts?

Answer – The arrival of warm fronts is associated with stormy weather.

Explanation:

Weather fronts are borders along which air masses of different temperatures meet. Depending on the temperature of the air mass that is advancing, a front can be warm or cold.

Warm fronts are created with the forward movement of warmer air masses. They move gradually, having to push through and rise above the colder air mass. This sort of movement initially causes the creation of high clouds such as cirrus and cirrostratus.

As the front passes on, these clouds thicken and move down the atmosphere, becoming closer to the ground. They then bring heavy precipitation in the form of rains and/or snow.

Due to the gradual progress of a warm front, its approach and the resultant weather can be recognized and anticipated much earlier than that of a cold front. Often, a warm front is followed by a cold one.
