Who Discovered Cells?

Answer – The discovery of cells is credited to the English scientist Robert Hooke.

Explanation:

In 1665, Hooke used an improved compound microscope to examine thin slices of cork. He observed small, box-like structures and called them “cells” because they reminded him of the cells in a monastery. Hooke’s observations were documented in his book Micrographia, which played a significant role in the early development of cell theory. The understanding of cells and the development of cell theory progressed over time through the work of various scientists, including Anton van Leeuwenhoek, Matthias Schleiden, Theodor Schwann, and Rudolf Virchow.
