Yes it is  hard but please I need help with this

A horizontal 8 cm OD pipe carries steam at 150°C through a room at 17°C. The pipe is covered by a
1.5 cm layer of magnesia insulation. What is the heat loss per meter of the pipe?
• For this configuration if a horizontal cylinder, NuD = f (RaD, Pr) can be found using equation 8.28
• I assume since material and thickness of the pipe inside the insulation are not given, nor is any flow data on
the steam that these resistances are negligible.
• The temperature of the outer insulation is not initially known. I guessed it and used a circuit diagram with two
resistances to find Q, then used one circuit to find the wall temp, and iterated. I updated my material properties
with my wall temperature changes. It converged quickly.
• My answer is 5-10% higher than the books. Not sure why.
