trade secrets and other proprietary information should be kept protected by companies.
Employees who have access to such information are trusted to keep them confidential.
Overhearing information about a client should be dealt with accordingly. In the same
manner, having confidential information about a competitor should be treated ethically. If the
information about a client can help in boosting sales, execute the appropriate action to make
things work out for the client and the company. Whatever personal information obtained should
be kept confidential.
On the other hand, trade secrets and other types of information should remain
confidential within the bounds of the company premises. Upon the employee's resignation, it is
also his/her duty not to divulge any information about the company he/she previously worked
for.
